Sa Re Ga Ma Pa should not say that they are giving us 'voice of india' instead they should just say they are giving us 'choice of india'. Public voting which is not uniform throughout the country and which is characterized by regional biases cannot be relied upon if one is looking for the best singer. Doing this will not only hurt the sentiments of the participants & the people who truly believe in them but it will also discourage a good singer (like Nihira) and raise a question on the authenticity of the show. Since public voting is the only way in determining the winner then we have to respect their decision too. If people feel that there are regional biases then they should take the lead and vote in an unbiased manner. That is the only way to avoid any kind of injustice!! At this point in time my personal feeling is that we have two choices:
1) Either we go back in time from where the injustice was very apparent (elimination of Nihira) and start all over again from there. Since the public is aware of what might go wrong if they don't vote, they would vote and the best candidate would win!!
2) Sa Re Ga Ma Pa should just admit that this program is not looking for the 'voice of india' but just 'choice of india'. This way even if a good candidate gets eliminated he / she knows that it is not for his / her singing.
Note: Next time Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, please don't leave the judgment totally in public hands. There should be people with sound knowledge of music judging the contestants and public voting limited to say just 50 %.

disagree.

think thru this- how do you define "voice of india"? just as is the case with public votes, if u ask 10 people, u'll get 10 answers. if u appoint judges, then shld they be YOUR judges or MINE? judges ke liye bhee voting karna chahiye phir.

public voting is bad, but the alternatives r worse. without public voting, there is even greater likelihood of backroom deals being cut amongst the coterie.

jo bhee jitega, there'll be people who'll be happy, n people who'll be trying to undermine the results. yeh hai democracy, meri shilpid. with all its faults still better than other forms...
