| Televisionpoint.com Team Ulfa has allegedly threatened the contestants of Zee TV's music show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 to pull out, in order to make sure a contestant from Assam wins. "Three contestants complained that they were threatened by ULFA militants to pull out of the show in favour of Debojit, one of the four finalists, who hails from Assam," a spokesperson for Zee TV said. Another issue which irked the contestants was the fact that almost 80 percent of votes in favour of Debojit were from the North-East region. As per the format of the show, which is in the final stages now, the winner will be decided on the basis of public votes which is elicited through SMS. Most of whom even threatened to pull out of the contest after dubbing the process as 'unfair'. The matter was finally resolved after Gajendra Singh, director and producer of the show, intervened. "All the contestants have apologised and will continue in the show." He added that the show was 'back on track' and there would be 'no change' in its format. The show, which is likely to end next month, promises the winner a flat in Mumbai apart from a huge cash prize. What, however, remains to be seen is who finally emerges the winner. |
