OMG!! I can't believe it, I was hoping it was a rumour! She is a gr8 singer, I am sure she will make it big in the music industry, her voice is amazing! I think the next to go will be either Debojit or Himani...damn this sucks!! Thanks for the update!

I have NEVER been so affected by any TV show before this.I am just a music lover and no relative of Nihira Joshi. On several occasions when my favourite wouldn't win on SRGMP,I would see the repeats and try to analyse and convince my self that the judge knows better.
But this time,I am terribly disappointed.I live in HGK and have not seen the episode of Nihira's departure from the show.I know I'll get emotional when I see it.

I write this for all music lovers and fans of Nihira and good music.Don't feel dejected. This show CHALLENGE 2005 is indeed a challenge for Nihira, her mentor and her parents. She will work harder and become the star we have predicted.
These are not constitutional elections where the public has to suffer their wrong choices for the years to come.
Nihira will surely make it in the world of music.
I have always tried to see the brighter side of things when things are not working out the way I want. There is always a reason. She is only 17.Let her "polish" her existing talent and complete her studies. She will be more mature and will be able to handle her success with her head on her shoulders.

The Final 4 are also very good....hope they do well too.

If Gajendraji is a sincere person and really devoted to music,he won't repeat the mistake of leaving the judgement in the hands of the public and using emotions to gain sympathy for the singers. The show should be about good singing and good music.
He has provided such wonderful shows in the past,I would like to give him the benefit of doubt.I think he is also a victim of political pressure from the channel and other factors.

Assuming that this show is not manipulated,I am disappointed to see the people in India being so regional even in modern times. How much have we really advanced if our thinking is still restricted to "my state and community"???

God Bless Nihira and Good luck to the Final 4.

copy cheap stuff and think they are cool. The funny thing is that here in
America, people laugh at us desis - shame on us! Nihira was the best.
Himani always sings so low and can only sing folk songs.

Ask any random Indian person to sing - 8/10 won't sing in tune!! and ask
any random American person and 9/10 can sing in tune!! This is sooo
sad. I
totally agree with Mr. Ismael Darbar. 😡

Not true. Indians are more musical than Americans. they are like Italians.
They problem is that the youth (the SMS voters) are more swayed by sex
appeal or silly stories than talent.

I can't believe that anyone would want Nihira out because she stands "like a statue".
We are talking of playback singing here;in an industry that produces the largest number of films and music, read songs, play a vital role.
The singers have to sing in a manner that would make the listeners dance, laugh or cry when they hear the song..They don't have to enact it while recording the song.
After every episode I have downloaded the songs(a million thanks to Dizzybanana)and listened to them wearing headphones, and Nihira has sounded perfect most of the times.Himani has overshadowed at times.

This show started as a talent hunt for singing, but I guess it's ending up as one for stage performers. In that case out of the 32 contestants atleast 25 were fit to accompany the stars(actors) on their tours.

Really Gajji,Antakshari has gone, atleast do something to save this show.

You might be right. Its just that I am so disappointed with the current
generation's music choice. I think we, here in America, are the last
generation that really appreciates our actual culture and heritage and
above all, good music. I wish people would realise how cheezy it looks
and start being Indian again - not copy the western culture and slangs
blindly - looks very artificial, not to mention cheezy.

Anyway, Thanks for the update and may God bless Nihira.

Nihira and Vinit was standing to face public meter at that time itself i felt like stop watching this show as both are really talented and should not go out at this stage.

About Nihira… her yesterday's performance was too good. Both songs she sang were beautiful. Devdas song was too good.

I feel like lets stop watching this show. Nihira will rock the bolloywood very soon

I will be very happy and pleased to hear her sweet voice in CD/theater.

Vineet and Nihira... the two best singers both getting yellow immediately proves that this show is totally scripted. This guy, gajji is obviously trying to squeeze out as much as he can from this show. He's trying to make it more unpredictable to confuse the public. I had the chance of meeting Saptak and Keka Ghoshal in public and they revealed what the true saregamapa program actually is. Although did not believe in their words..thinking they are just bitter that they lost... I think all they said is quite true. The music is really good.. but something needs to be done about the public voting and the entire show itself.
They should switch back to the original saregama format..where the singers are tested on rhythm, different scales etc. This way they just dont prepare one song for an entire week and go sing it one day. Also, this way it'll test the singers true skills and talent, because, memorizing a song or live performances arent needed for playback singing... I mean live performances are for pop albums and thats what Indian Idol is aimed at right??

Yes, I am also dissapointed about Nihira being out but...I still like this show best. Like many, I understood the "talent hunt" ended (all good and diverse) when we reached top 10 or so...the rest of this show is for Reality TV entertainment value.

Just to draw an analogy here, Public Voting here is probably equivalent to BoxOffice success for a film...shows where the public want to spend their money on...and there is no debate that an Oscar-winner need not also be the top boxoffice grosser. So suffice it to say that public is not selecting the best talent anymore. I am a GajendraJi supporter in general but instinctually, I too am not liking this Public Voting thing at such critical stage of the competition. Maybe he finds it appropriate since he has designed SaReGaMa C2005 as a Talent Search + Game in RealityTV Format. And I know such personal opinion with this do not stand a chance...it's primarily aimed at new talents for Bollywood, which enjoys the largest movie audience in the World (by head count).

I think Himani sings very well within her known limitations (she plays the game factor of this show very well) but I know I will be buying Nihira's songs or concert tickets when she tours the US in the future. I guess I have better choices when I need to enjoy performance other than Indian (Hindi) singing.

If there is a perception that Indians are more "musical" than Americans (or for that matter any other part of the world), it perhaps is a valid perception from a Bengali but not necessarily for every Indian. Also, let's remember that US/America is a varied blend of people/race from other places around the world and depending on where you are located, the diversity often interfere with ones perception & understanding of what truely represent as American. As for "young talent" under Performing Arts, I find Indian youth doing better than before but it probably will be much beyond the current "cool" & "just chill" era to bring up the general standards as seen as the American Standard for many years now (look at the school level performances). Indian kids are at par or participate at the leading edge of American Standards in the academic faculties. I am a parent with my kids in US schools and I thought I could share that here.

Let's get back to enjoying the rest of SaReGaMaPa C2005...and based on a friends idea, I will probably put up my entire SaReGaMaPa C2005 (480i digital NTSC with 2.0 AC3 Dolby Digital Sound encoding) on DVDs ($1/disc) up for grabs on eBay after the series ;)
