Well i cant say if itz a rumour or not....even i wudnt believe it till i c it with my own eyes....

If the news about NIHIRA's exit is true then it is really a tragic one. I have read all other people's outpourings expressing grief and anguish. Many have targeted the producers, mentors, etc. while expressing their anguish. However I think the enemy is very abstract and is every where. It is in the form of all pervasive mediocrity, mindless imitation of cheap western things (Not of those which are valuable and therefore difficult), technology reaching to masses and in the process the quality of some important things getting suffered, Import of forms from outside and it's use by the people who do not have the maturity for the use of same, Domination of form over content, etc.

I always wonder when people speak about the public being cheap while voting. Then how come in the old days many melodious and good songs were so popular? Even the most popular musicians were really talented people. But now a days people who are good at piracy and mimicry are seen to be successful. Times have changed. And it is proved by NIHIRA's early exit. It is symbolic of melancholy of much higher degree. That's why people are in such a grief.

Let us wish her best luck in all her future endeavors. Best wishes are important not only for her but also for Indian film music.

If Nihira has been voted out, it must have sumthing to do with her not being able to connect to the public..with due reagrds to her talent, one must admit that she wud always be singing with her eyes closed and her performances were nowhere near Himani's. Himani has always realted well with the public with her voice as well as performances
