There is no doubt that Vinit's image has suffered because of topi/pyar/pachas ka note, but more worrying fact is that his singing ability is very much where he started from. He used to sing Sonuji's genre and he is still doing the same & still struggles with the same problems technically.
If we take a close look, singers such as Hema, Himani, Swananda & Shraib gained a lot from their mentorship. Sharib started as sufi/qawali genre singer but by the time he approached Ageepareeksha he was polished into a gem by JL, Sharib freely tried diff singer's songs all to his advantage. JL were furthur able to identify Swananda's strength of voice and gave her a touch of Ashaji, which I douibt any other mentor would have succeded in.
Look at Himani, she at one point battled out Sanchali to survive, but she is transformed now, though she remains mostly within her genre she is doing very well & she is rocking. Similarly there is huge diff in what Hema was 6 months ago & what he is now, all kudos to Aadeshji's mentorship...the very fact that these two singers are peaking at the right time means that Aadeshji is giving lot of time to his chelas.
I only hope that Vinit gets better guidance to work on his deficinecies, I often wish he was under a diff mentor, then he would have gained something from SRGMP2005.
Th world of singing is about improving & improvising, those who don't..... perish.
