Think I am Nihira asking you this question.

PLEASE Explain to me what you mean by 'sing with more feeling' ? because
1) When i close my eyes to concentrate and sing with feeling , people say i should not do that and feel that i have a body language that they do not appreciate.
2) When I open my eyes and sing people think that i am not putting any feelings in my singing.
3) I do not know how to dance while singing because i want to become a playback singer and not a performer

Help !!!!What should I do ? 😕

You are right ! This whole lafda start when Gaj Jee chgd from Shiv Hari to junta thereby making politicians out of 18 yr. old music contestants. That is one thing I will never forgive Gajendra jee - changing the rules of the game in the middle of the game.
I would like to play a chess game with Gaj jee and change the rules of the game half way - worst still gear it to where I control who wins. Look he counts the votes now and God knows how he is doing it. I could not count 57 patties - can he ???

My advice is simple and applicable to all

Just concentrate on singing only do not go for dance and all these stuffs right now. U can learn dance and other performace stuff any time.
I think for a singer the biggest perfoemce is how u sing.
So just do that and get the votes.

Pintoo: well said. This voting business is forcing them to perform. Very sad but true. Notice, earlier when we had judges no one was dancing. Once this junta vote came in - performance became a criteria.

Gaj jee changed the rules of the game in the middle of the game. I would show Gaj jee the red light....

This is the first time I am opening this topic. Very interesting topic.
First first advice to all the contestants. Please don't get into all the popularity contests. Concentrate on your singing. Remember: Destination is important, but the path you take is more important. Just by dancing and doing some gimmicks may get you junta's vote, one contract with Zee and/or a couple of songs from your egoistic mentors. But finally you have to win the music director's confidence. They will be the ones deciding your fate in the industry. Hats off to Nihira for not falling into such gimmicks and staying pure in her singing.

Now for some individual advice:

Nihira: Cannot think of much. Although most people say you sing without feel, I don't agree. I think its just that your stage presence is misleading. I recorded all your songs on a CD and am listening to them during my drive. Some are as good as the original and some are better. You don't have to change a bit.

Himani: You have a clean voice. I loved listening to your songs in the car too. Please don't copy Richa Sharma etc. Find your own identity.

Hema: Perfect voice quality. You have your own identity! None of your songs even remotely suggest who the original singer is. Esp your Sathiya and Aye Ajnabi. Please concentrate on your diction. Sometimes you land up pronoucing "ka" as "kha" and vice versa. Don't get too nervous with the results! Even if you don't win, you got enough coverage. I am sure all musics directors other than the ones on the show have noticed you. I am pretty confident, you'll be singing for Rehman in the near future. Also please challenge yourself more. I know you are capable. Pickup more diffcult songs.

Debojit: Love your voice and style. But please find your own individuality. Don't try to copy Kishore/Sanu too much. You'll get lost in the industry. Concentrate on your singing not performance.

Vinit: I like your confidence and consistency. But please don't copy Sonu/Md Rafi. All your songs sound so similar to the original. Junta may vote for the person who sang closest to the original singers. But music directors look for different style and voice all the time. Please dis-associate yourself from your mentor. I know its not possible, BUT.. He will be more harmful to you than useful in the long run.

Paresh: Playback is definitely not your cup of tea because you don't have a unique voice. You so much remind me of Md Rafi. You are a good singer. No doubt about that. But you have a better stage presence. My advice, try to release your own video albums. You are a complete package. So focus on your strengths.

Another advice to Himesh: People may be dumb for sometime. But they'll wake up soon and realise what a hyprocrite you are. Stop your gimmicks and be logical. Don't insult Saraswati (music) too much just to satisfy your ego. That'll not take you far.

Long post.. Also would like to mention Sharib, my favorite in the show. You have the most unique voice of all. You have to make it big in the industry. You have challenged yourself the most in the challenge. You have sung the most difficult songs and still didn't get carried away by the original singer. You maintained your style. God Bless You! The reason you lost is I am guessing: You were almost everyone's second choice. This is also a big deal since the first choice was any of the other 5 contestants. That still means you were liked the most.
