I know this is off-topic but I read how much of a good singer Raja is and all that here and I was watching MKMM and he didn't impress me at all. I wonder why people make such a big deal of him.

He's just OK...Even his voice isn't a very gud one....
But he has a huge fan following...And has a star appeal....
Thats it...He is not something extraordinary like Kamal or Sniti or Sugandha...

@ ankit_nyc, he was in bottom for his earlier performances. We are talking of his sufi performance and this week's show is yet to be telecasted. And who knows the voting results shown are real or not.

Whoever has musical knowledge will agree that the harquaten he took were not simple. It was really tough. And his voice really suited the composition. It was undoubtedly one of the best performances of this season.

PS: I dont like his other performances but have to give the credit when its due.

Just goes to show success and talent are not highly correlated.

😕 ummmmmm undoubtedly? I have doubts and so do many others...so how can it undoubtedly be the best performance of the season? 😕 and just because our favorites don't come on top, we can't say that the results aren't real can we? If that's the case then it would be unfair for anyone to be the winner because those who didn't win will always accuse the winner of not being deserving.......😕 And many contestants on the show take harquaten which aren't simple.........what's the big deal in that? they wouldn't be on the show if they were simplistic in their singing......😕 In my opinion one could have heard the same sufi influenced rendition on any given day riding a train in Mumbai........😕

alisher completed the formalities of wild card entry which is a great thing.
When mentors were hiding mistakes of ranjit rajwada all the time, then, vishal pointed out and also pointed out mistakes of ali sher just one time .oltherwise ali sher gave all the performances as the best.
most of the audience already decided their favorite before ali sher came, so, question of liking or disliking does not arise now otherwise he proved that he is the best singer.
Every singer does mistakes which are being hidden.
Ali sher is the best singer.

😕 the guy has been on the bottom pretty much every week......best hota to bottom mein kyu aata hein humesha? 😕 unless only a select few like you have an eye for talent and the rest of us have no eye for talent.....😕

Sashrutaji main aapki baat se poori tarah sahmat hoon. Log Raja ki bahut baatein karte hai par iska sahi uttar jaan ne ke liyen aapko A.R.Rahman sahab se poochna padega ki woh Raja ko apne saath stage show main kyon le ke jaate hai yaa phir Vishal Shekhar se poochna padega ki unhone Raja ko 3-4 gaane kyon diyen yaar phir Bappi aur Bappa Lahiri se poochna padega ki unhone Raja ko 5-6 gaane kyon diyen yaa phir Santanu Moitra se poochna padega unhone Raja ko 2 gaane kaise diyen yaa phir Amit Trivedi se poochna padega ki unhone Raja ko 2 gaane kisliyen diyen. What exactly are you trying to prove by giving me info which I already know. As far as I am concerned the world works in non-ideal ways and the music industry is no exception. I won't respect a person just because he has reached a certain level of success. I will respect him if in my eyes he has the talent to match his position and the evidence so far indicates to me that there are far better singers than him who in a ideal world would have had better opportunities. But there is no ideal world. So good that Raja earned his success. But that doesn't mean everything.
