Every legend has their bad days. For every creation there will be supporters and criticizers alike. Rahman is not an exception. Too bad people did not like it. But he will come back stronger.

Take the example of Sachin Tendulkar, when he wipes off the opposition, every tom, dick and harry will sing his praises, whereas when he is out on a zero, people doubt his ability!! Guess that itself proves why Rahman and Tendulkar are successful like no other person in their respective field. Coz people do not cut them slack and over expect.

People are defending ARR as if he is above all of us and can make no mistake. Dont put him on the pedastal above GOD. Each & every time one is not very creative. If so many good learned musicians or singer is saying that his composition is not good means it is not good. This is what I felt. Come on & pounce on me.

DM very wisely did not ask for renumeration. would have got brickbats for the gaana and monetary aspect if the song failed 😆 😆 .

Glad Rehman got rejected. I have always felt that he is highly overrated.

It's disheartening to see public memory is sooo short...They dont leave any stone unturned to malign a man who has made India proud on several occasions and known to be as one of the most humblest celebrities in India...

A legend like ARR will always remain a legend and couple of not-so-good compositions can't take away all the credits he deserves...

Delhi govt has a new theme song for Games

AS OSCAR - winning musician A. R. Rahman's official theme song for the Delhi Commonwealth Games draws more brickbats than bouquets, the state government on Thursday unveiled its own song for the event.

Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi has laced the fastpaced song titled Khel Le with Bhangra beats that usually hit the right note in north India.

He unveiled the song on Thursday, performing live in front of chief minister Sheila Dikshit and top bureaucrats at a function where the government launched its revamped tourism website.

"I was asked to prepare the song two-three days back. I have made a lot of effort in this short time and I hope people like this song," Mehndi said.

Several people, including Commonwealth Games executive board member V. K. Malhotra, had criticised Rahman's song, India Bula Liya , for being slow paced.

Rahman was paid over '5 crore for composing the official theme song. But while releasing his song, Mehndi said he made the song "free of cost for India". Before unveiling the song, Dikshit launched a 24-hour telephone help centre for all kinds of information about Delhi and a tourism website providing a range of services.

Ever since slumdog millionaire was released and he won an oscar for that lacklustre tune "jai ho", rehmanji has become a victim of publicity.
Personally, he is a very down to earth and a simple guy who worships music and takes seriousness in everything he dos.
Now before Delhi government makes a mockery of his CWG track, they better look back and see if the games can really take place or not. Here its raining like hell, roads are just awful and the whole stadia where events are to take place are messed up with debris. Poor trafic management is another problem.
It would be better to concentrate on games rather than creating controversy on the nonsensical songs and themes.
If rehman has been approached by government and they were willing to pay, yes, its his duty to give them a song. But making mockery of him in public is just plain awful. delhi sarkar ki aukaat hi kya hai aur kya guarentee hai ki CWG dhang se organize ho payenge? Deadlines are missed and construction mess is here, there and everywhere.

We people have a tendency to overreact. Lets be honest and give rehmanji a break.
Now how much fame has caught with him we dont know, but the last one year he has been going through a rough patch of his career. Its a human tendency that every artist has a stage that he has to undergo.
Despite this mediocrity, most of his songs are just awe inspiring. Can any MD match to his standards of difficulty levels and utter melody that he can produce? Songs which have rocking bass, tuneful voices and utter refreshing to the ears? albums like bombay, dil se, roja, saathiya and many more?

Its only you people that can answer. But its sad that here many threads are being created making mockery of him and constantly bringing up things that have already happened.
Time has moved on, so its better to move forward rather than cry hue over this.

And don't forget to remember his legendary past compositions.
