Likely future of these contestants...

I love music and do not care much about competition in music. Everyone who sings good and "dil se" is a winner for me. I honestly do not care who is going to be the eventual winner of this competition but for me on a given day everyone has performed better than other and every one had a day or will have one! I totally agree that all these singers are very talented and are serious about making their career in show business. Considering that I thought that let us think for a while what could be the likely future course of action of these singers once the competition is over in next few months.

Twinkle - Will definitely try her luck in FG and Indian Idol. She will become a good performer and eventually she will release her personal album and may become a hit amongst youngsters, she has all in her required for that segment of music/show business.

Rajeev - We will hear him occasionally like Sukhwinder, with couple of tough songs with very high pitch and likes. He is the best amongst all in high pitch, no one will deny that. Beside that he may become a close friend of Aadesh and become a part of his team (for background music etc.).

Nihira - She will have most offers for love songs and duets and will step in the shoes of Alka. She will be most stable and have a real singing career ahead if she continues to learn.

Sharib- He will sing some Sufiani songs or may be opening lines of some songs with lots of classical and high pitch variations. He may bring his Saabri gharana in fusion with modern music, something like what Trilok Gurtu (son of Shobha Gurtu) did and make a different place for himself.

Himani - I do not see a real serious future ahead for her. She will be a good on-stage or "fill-in" singer may be. She lacks any "original" talent.

Ditto for Vineet, Hemachandra, Debojit, Swananda and Ujjaini. Well they all are good singers, please do not get me wrong but I am talking about a serious future ahead for them. If you notice they all are very good singers but do not have what we call in marketing, a USP (unique selling proposition). They lack any special talent like Rajeev or Twinkle, which make you stand out from the lot. Agreed, they all are very good and extremely talented but unless they are gifted with something different or they develop something "original" in their singing or personality, I do not see market taking a note of them seriously. Unfortunately so far all these singers have tried to imitate the singers only and have not shown a class of their own.

Forgive me if I have hurt anyone's feelings because it is a competition and every one wants his/her singer to go on and win the competition. But please look beyond that, they will be no different from II or FG winners or even old time winners of SRGMP. We all liked their(other winners) performance but what they are today?

Please share your thoughts without emotions (think about it not from current competition's view point only but beyond, please).

Hi fellow Torontonian,
Beautiful (unusually sunny) though cold today here in Toronto!

Agree with you about Nihira, Twinkle, Sharib ,and perhaps Himani as well. Just not sure about Rajeev...sure he has an unusual/original voice, but his tendency to go off key and pitch frequently is disturbing. If he trains himself, maybe he could make a spot for himself in the industry...needs to work real hard.

I think Hemchandra too has an unusual voice, fairly deep (most playback singers today are unpleasantly high pitched!)..kinda like SPB but minus the thick accent. He should be able to make a place for himself in the industry as well.

i dont know about everybody...but hema already made his debut in playback singing in telugu movies....so i think even if the hindi film industry wont give him a chance...the telugu industry will always be there...........

ya i completely agree that hema also has a USP. his voice is more distinct than anyone there. i dun think his accent should pose a problem cuz its not really evident in his singing.

I agree for the others but not for Rajeev. He is not a treat to hear and mostly besura...As regards - Himani, I think she has something unique in her..her rendition is superb

i have the future for these participants.

NIHIRA : top playback singer.

SHARIB : Playback voice for particular stars ( manhar udass for jackie sharoff, sp balla for Salman in his early movies, sudesh bhosley for Amitabh in the recent movies)
also title songs and situational songs without a hero.

HEMA : Same as Sharib . Also south movies. I think he needs a lot more classical training.

HEMANI: a mixture of abida Parveen, Shoba Mughdal,Richa Sharma. if u combine parts of above mention's career. She will have some Sufiana style hits (not many) , she will have few Baghbans to her credit.

RAJEEV: WE will not hear from him after 2006.

VINEET: HE will win the challenge 2005. WE will see him singing occasionally in Himesh Rash's movies , couple of albums.

PARESH: ONE album (if lucky) Will be popular in Divali shows and Navratri celebration Shows In UK. no future in Bollywood.

SWANANDA: she will sing a few songs in movies. has a good voice for playback . her voice suits lots of female stars.

DEBOJEET: we will see him sing few songs here there. couple of movies, few songs on private channels.

Twinkle: WILL win this challenge 2005 ( to the surprise of many, including me). She will have a album since she will win, will sing in couple of movies. we will not hear from her after 2006.

UJJANI: TO the suprise of many she will be a successful playback singer. She will dissapear from the scene for 2 years (she will take some trainig, polish her talent) . after 2 years she will come back with vengence and and stay for good in the playback singing.
my 2 cents.
