Mentors and your opinions on them

Saregamapa is being projected as the MAHAYUDH of the mentors and its turning out to be a real yudh !! Would love to hear your opinions on the tactics (can be called politics) played by the mentors and the way they act.

I think Himesh is the most cunning mentor of all !! Dunno if you have noticed .. lot of times when some other mentor is about to praise or protect his own candidate ... HR jumps into it and starts talking.. thereby making sure the other mentor or participant doesnot get a chance to speak :) !!

eg: HR was after Abhijeet all through ... whenever Abhijeet did not sing perfectly. HR will interupt before any other mentor gets to talk and start declaring how Aishwarya got out .. how Abhijeet once didnot perform the best. "Nahin Abhijeet ... tum to .. maane tum to bohuuuuuuuut accha singer ho .. tumse to hum bohut jyada umeed karte hain .. tumain isse bohut accha performance dena chahiya" ... "Hum ssaab jante hain vineet kitna aache singer haain .. sab chahte hain..."... he speaks for everyone everytime :)

When Rajeev was out of scale, and Aadesh tried to protect, HR jumped in.

When Vineet was singing in the initial rounds (green card yellow card rounds) and judges were new .. and before Vineets performace, HR would say "Beta Vineet .. God has given you so much talent .. never be proud .. I will make you a star" etc etc.. this way the judges even before getting to hear knew that Vineet was a great talent. Also after every song Vineet sings HR will promise him a song. And the thing about Vineet giving his cap to Twinkle.. just a try to get more attention by adding a romantic angle. After Aishwarya got out, HR started sporting a beard, wearing old caps etc .. and spoke about Aishwarya every episode.. he tried his best to get Vineet and Joyeeta into finals... but after Joyeeta lost she said she always wanted to goto Ismails gharana .. and so HR didnot chose her in the top 6 for the sms round. Also in the SMS round he acted as if hes fair .. no .. he didnot get any good candidate from the boys as they wud give Vineet a tough fight. He got Aish (anyway he had to) and rest were the sad singer and paresh. He didnot care a damn about the gals as he didnot have any good gal candidate and Nihira is anyway looking to be the winner. So he got Ujjaini and Sanchali from JL and one from IL (which later was changed to Joyeeta). Now that he has 3 finalists he still doesnot give any importance at all to the other 2. He comes after their performances .. all 3 .. and stands next to Vineet and asks for people to vote for Vineet !! Why not Ujaini and Paresh !! Afterall he is their mentor too. And by now he has made Vineet the virtual winner as Vineet has already got so many song offers.. what does the winner get .. a 2 bedroom for 2 years ... and a contract which maynot bring much money !! Zee should announce a bigger prize .. now that the show is soooo popular... give these guys who have been in the studios for so many months ... lost a year of their study or job ... compensate them better.

Jatin Lalit.. Lalit is the cunning guy :) ... Jatin is too emotional and sometimes just says whatever he feels like. I have noticed that after Swananda got out ... the duo purposefully voted as low they could for all the male candidates !! Just becos their only hope was Shareeb (unfortunately looks like Shareeb is out !) Two is always better than one.. so they have their comments/strategy ready even before the singer sings ... and Lalit will try to influence other mentors while the singer is singing.

Aadesh can never tolerate anyone saying anything bad about his contestants. How many times he protected Rajeev. If Himesh can change the track for his contestants, why can he not check the track of his contestant. Why does he need to complain after Rajeev is done. Overall AS and JL are very much together in supporting each others candidate. They are relatives and blood is always thicker.

Ismail Darbar is the least knowledgeable, least educated, most ill mannered, least intelligent mentor of all. His comments revolve around the words "Dil ko Chu Gaya", "Accha Gaya", "Thoda bohut hille hain sur.. but " and some english adjectives he learnt. Did he ever use any term related to music in his comments ... if you or I go as a mentor.. we can have better comments :) .. People complain about Lalits comments but atleast he knows music. IL talks in such rough language ... like he said to Twinkle .. "Tumhara Banner dekh dekh ke dimag kharab ho gaya" ... Whats that !! She tried a tough song .. maybe shes not talented .. but what has that to do with her face and style. Similarly.. Debojit didnot sing that bad .. but Ismail says "Din ba din tumto piche ja raheho" .. cummon only last week he said .. "Bohut ddur tak jayoge" .. and when Debojit said "Sir gala kharab.." ID says "Gala kharab hain ghar chale jao .. Dimaag kharab maat karo" !!!! What the hell was that !! And Zee edits out the part what Debojit says and just leaves "Galti Meri Hain"... ( Zee had enough time to show Rajeev sleeping, dreaming, cooking). How demoralising ... but I guess ID's contestants are used to this :) ... even after this bashing ... did you see Debojit dancing with Ganjawala ... he was dancing with smile on his face. He knows ID is like that. When other contestants had sore throats, their mentors announce that .. actually Twinkle sounded like that past few weeks and look at the bashing she gets. ID is lucky to get good contestants ... you do not need to mould Nihira !! I personally think ID gets some complex when he sees people dance and enjoy their performance. Just look at his eyes these days ... maan the day he gave a rose to Nihira .. he was shivering with emotion ... and then he thrashed Twinkle. His eyes were red with anger. Just when Paresh was about to sing in the blue card- red card round.. Shan asked him to say something about Paresh ... instead of introducing Paresh as a good singer or a performer.. he uses the time to say "Mujhe Dar Hain Paresh mera paisa leke Bhag Jaye"... so negative ... and Paresh got the red card. The fact is he is the least bothered mentor... he doesnot have any films and never even utters a word about using any singer. Atleast HR (and AS) has the guts to do so.

Just hoping that just becos JL has no participants Gajendra doesnot bring back one for JL. Mentors should just now stop favoring their own and rise above the mean things and just talk based on the days performance !! The mento meter is a joke ... it all depends on mainly what the mentors fought over in the last 15 mins.

I agree with whatever you have said. The rajeev scene looked very dramatized one.

I agree too.Especially rajeev's sequence was very dramatic..

I dunno why Rajeev and Vineet are getting so much TV time compared to others ? This is plain and simple favoritism and nothing else..

I thought that in the initial rounds AS and JL were the better mentors, in the sense that they encouraged their contestants and didn't have harsh words for them or other participants. Later on they seemed to project their participants at the expense of others.
Lalit always hums a few lines of the songs to show his knowledge. I think with J-L breaking up, both of them are trying to project themselves as the better musician. In the round where Himani lost to Twinkle, I think the judges got influenced by Lalit's comment saying that Himani should have sung 'bekarar' instead of 'bekara'.
ID maybe a sound music director but he should refrain from insulting his participants on national TV. First Vineeta, Twinkle and now Debojit. These singers are investing a part of thier lives for this contest. At least encourage them.
I find HR has always been polite to the participants. But he has become arrogant recently. I think he is a rising Music Director and wants the other mentors to know that too. His one agenda is to make Vinit a winner. Ujjaini and Paresh must be feeling so left out.
All of them should realise that the winner's mentor may not be credited much in the final analysis for that singer's triumph. For e.g, Nihira is a natural talent and she would have sang as beautifully if I mentored her!!!😃
Ujjani's black song was her own effort. Lalit declared very gracefully that they didn't guide her in this song.

well written post oberver_24_7, although i would like to mention that i find ID a fair kinda guy .... He speaks his mind if he thinks his contestants dint sing well , he will tell them you dint sing well . he told twinkle and debojit both that he dint think thay sang up to the mark . I think sometimes its better for your mentor to critisize you than another mentors critisizing you . Mentors have some expacations from their students and they tend to take their comments seriously . I havent seen any other mentor cirisizing their students , they rather cover up for them . I hop the next round we see bebojit sing really well .Though ID needs to leanr how to pass his comments .... He definately needs to take care of the words he uses on national tv ... i agree with you there .

But I think he is a knowledgeable and intelligent music director. I think twinkle is a very good singer and ID has high expectations from her but you guys must have notices that in the last two shows she was paying much attention to her dancing and expressions than her singing. She is the girl who once sang better than Himani (who was considered the best singer at that time)……. Now look at Himani….I think her performance is getting worst and worst, AS just kept saying mind-blowing, wonderful but somebody needs to tell her that she can sing better and that she's already proved it in the past…..AS is protecting her so much but none of the mentors has the courage to say anything about her………….She is my favorite singer and I was expecting her to be the SRGMP05 best singer.

I think HR is obsessed by Vineet ……… He doesn't want to hear anything about him at all even if he doesn't' sing well………I think that's too much. AS gave a very nice comment about Vinnet's performance on "Aaja aa aaja song" but HR even didn't want to listen to him………He praise his own participants a lot but it comes to other participants he only gives them 5-6 green lights……

I think Jatin is a very emotional person but of course he's more knowledge and experience than the other mentors. The comments that he and his brother gave are mostly the best comments.

One last thing about ID……He never makes any false comments about any participants…..whether it is his gharana or other gharans, if a participant sings well he always praise them and if they don't then he criticize them. I think that's they way a mentor should be in my point of view. You must have remember that he also criticized Nihira (the best singer of the show) once when she sang Oh lalala song……..he said beta aap ne bahoot acha gaya magar sur mein tora hilgaye they.

I believe Ismail Drabar is like me 😭 😳 even if my daughter gets full marks I say don't get too excited there will be next exam.
I think he is a good mentor, he trained them and now when it is crucial time, he doesn't want them to falter. See Twinkle sang so much better last time. I hope Debu also gets back into his old shoes and start singing more than performing.
And since he saw Twinkle and Debu slipping after praises, he warned Nihira.

Very interesting post, observer 247.I totally agree with apiscean that HR's only agenda is to make sure Vinit wins the contest.HR had said in one of the previous episodes [ I believe he told off AS, and said that Vinit was a rock star and he would prove it, by making him one ]. I think it has now become an ego issue for HR that Vinit win this contest. His cheerleading for Vinit now borders on the ridiculous!! It is unbecoming and undignified for music directors of their stature, be it HR or JL or ID or AS to beg the public to vote for their candidate. HR is definitely the worst, in that respect.Vinit's performance was good, but definitely not worth the superlatives that HR heaped on him. HR also has mastered the trick of offering Vinit playback singing opportunities publicly, thus making the voting public think that if HR thinks he is that good, he MUST be! MEMO TO ALL MENTORS AND TO GAJJI " Stop the childish squabbling on the sets. If your gharana singer is critisized by another mentor, don't take it personally,and be so defensive.And above all, STOP THE RIDICULOUS BEGGING FOR VOTES, and be dignified.

I think you are right..........He is a bit tough with his students but that's the way he is..........again i want to say that if AS just put a little bit pressure on Himani she can sing much better because we have seen her previous performance........she can sing much better than Twinkle and Ujjani......these mentors abne students per parda dalne ki koshish karte hai......
