Update for 24-Nov-05

Hi everybody,

This is the update for the elimination round telecast today(Thursday)....the show ended just 10-15 mins ago...n here I am!!!😊

The show kicked off with all the participants performing Disco Deewane....it was nicely coordinated n was enjoyable...Nihira even danced a bit!!😲 Today's theme was POP songs.

Then things got serious as the 3 contestants from JAI HO gharana were called on stage.First was the result...on the "People Meter"!

HEMACHANDRA got the green signal...his vote percent was 7.5%(I think). Next RAJEEV also got green light(8%) and HIMANI too got green.

Then came their performances.HEMA performed CHANNA VE....he sang well as usual....RAJEEV followed with PIYA RE PIYA RE(Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan song...I think)...he sounded lots better today....and HIMANI was really good with ARRA RE MARA DHOLNA.....she even danced some nice steps...n Aadesh was impressed n gifted her his shades!!!!

Then DUM gharana came on stage.

The People Meter flashed n SWANANDA got yellow light n to my shock n anger SHARIB was also awarded the yellow light!!!😲 😡 I really dont know how the public can vote so less after his mind blowing performance last week.

Then ROCK gharana came on stage.

VINEET got the green light n he had got highest share of votes this week(27.9%).UJJAINI and PARESH also got green!

Then the performances....VINEET tried singing BULLA KI JANA...I say tried cuz to me it was a wrong choice he was not all convincing...he even mucked up the words n repeated the same lyrics 3-4 times over to cover up. UJJAINI was refreshing n did justice to a very fav song PARI HOON MAIN...n PARESH was good with his performance of DUUR.

Then came the YALGAAR gharana.

TWINKLE said she knew it was her who would get the remaining yellow....n she did so after DEBOJIT got green with second highest % of votes(I didnt catch the exact number)..n NIHIRA also predictably got green..but with only 8%..she should really keep an eye on this trend!!

Then came the performances of DEBOJIT...he sang TU KAB YE JAANEGI(Sonu song)....followed by NIHIRA with AAIKA DAJEEBA....she sang flawlessly but was her subdued self performance-wise(which, for the record, I dont mind..but public in general seem to b voting for that!!😕)

So the bottom three were SWANANDA, SHARIB n TWINKLE. They then performed b4 the final results.SWANANDA sang JANAAM SAMJHA KARO really well....SHARIB was too good in SAYONEE...n TWINKLE sounded a li'l better in MADE IN INDIA...n was as usual loaded with performance.

Finally, SHAAN called AS n HR to come n declare who got the least votes. SHARIB got cleared first...he had got 5.5% votes...n b4 even the final declaration...JATIN-ji spoke up n said I dont need to hear it, I think know SWANANDA is out....n SHAAN confirmed that SWANANDA was indeed eliminated cuz she got lowest votes 2% while TWINKLE had just managed to stay in with 4.7% votes!!

JATIN-ji looked visibly upset n even said "Public ke upar koi nahi..lekin mera manna yahi hain ki yeh bohat galat hua..Swananda ko bahar nhi jana chahiye tha!!"

N after some emotinal moments where SWANANDA's husband came up on stage n thanked all mentors n everyone for their support....n SWANANDA started crying when she spoke about leaving all the participants....n finally the episode concluded with SWANANDA performing PIYA TU!!

HIGHLIGHT:SWANANDA is ELIMINATED!!!!!!

Sorry I missed out on the % of UJJAINI n PARESH.....

@Fantoos u heard correct...UJJAINI got 8.6% votes(NIHIRA only 8%) n PARESH got 8.4%.

Who next? Nihira or Ujjaini? I guess people do not want to hear good singers. This new generation is more of a different age and Swanandas,Nihiras, Raktimas and likes are not welcome!

It is a very strange coincidence that in 2nd week alone two good singers have been knowcked out by public. Agreed Swananda had a sore throat(or could not sing well in last two weeks) but she sang much better than many (esp. Twinkle). But Swananda is married, looks older and is not as attractive as Twinkle so the outcome! Too bad for her. SRGMP is becoming now even more surprising. Let us pray that public do not vote out Nihira or Sharib next week! 😡

Well am not so sure......if praying alone will help!!Sharib already got yellow today..n just goin over the vote % u can c that Nihira is in the bottom half not the top!!!!!

SRGMP get TRUE judges back in the show...who know music when they hear it...who LISTEN to songs n NOT LOOK at them!!!!!!
