If one guy and one gal gets booted each time - then I feel that following sequence would be appropriate

IF looking for playback singer (as portrayed by the SRGMP challenge in the beginning):

1st boot: Rajeev and Twinkle

2nd boot: Paresh and Raktima

3rd boot: Debojit and Ujjaini

4th boot : Sharib and Swananda

5th boot : Vineet and Himani

Winner: Hemachandra and Nihira

However, since they have opened it to Public voting, its going to be performance and looks not the right singer. So these are my predictions:

1st boot: Rajeev and Swananda

2nd boot: Sharib and Raktima

3rd boot: Debojit and Nihira

4th boot : Vineet and Ujjaini

5th boot : Hemachandra and Himani

Winner: Paresh and Twinkle

I agree with you for the most part.. i think your second set of predictions is more realistic.. but i think you'd be belittling the indian junta by saying they might base their votes solely on looks and performance.
The indian public is not stupid, they will base their votes mainly on SINGING but will give extra points for performance, personality and looks. This is my prediction.

The voting numbers are very unfair, I believe Hemachandra has Paresh's old number. Hema may end up reaping Paresh's rewards. Ujainni's old number has also been taken by another contestant. She may find that her fans are unknowingly voting for somebody else!!

Ok, saw today's episode (had some guests so will have to see it again later tonight to take it all in)...
Girls:
- I know MrsPetLoverUS will beat me with a "belan" but I didn't think Nihira sang well. Maybe its my expectations over the past few years that are too high.
- Ujjaini picked a nice song but she was not too good either.
- No comments on Swananda since she had a sore throat so will round this up saying that Raktima and Himani sounded the 2 best today.
Boys:
The boys defintely sang better today
- Debo, Paresh, Vineet, Hem were all awesome.
- I agree with AS that Rajeev had the wrong scale but why is that the viewer's problem? Everyone chooses their own songs, practices with the musicians and sings. Its not like the old saregama (with Sonu) where they used to have a round asking singers to sing songs from a scale given by Shantanu da (too bad they got rid of that round in later episodes).

Hey riddler100 - I think you just echoed my views on the performances of first round finals.. Amongst girls Raktima and Himani were great, and Nihira chose a song that was not really her kind! Vineet, Paresh and Hem were brilliant! And yes, Rajeev or AS cannot run away with an excuse now that the scale was not correct! They would have practiced it before singing, so why all this hupla..

Hey - I do not think people will go only for looks etc.. If we look at this forum, most of us want the best singers to win and not the overall performers.. I think we can consider this forum as a small sample representation of all the viewers who are voting.. so hopefully, we will have the best singers to win the show..

IMO, Twinkle will no way win the contest.. nor should Paresh! But yes, I think Rajeev and Twinkle/Swananda should be first to go out this week

I was a little disappointed with Nihira's singing today as well. But I forgot what song she sang! Can anyone refresh my memory?

I sincerely felt that Raktima was the best amoung the six girls in the first elimination round follow by Himani. I would rate Hemachandra only better than Rajeev. This is strictly based on last this weeks performace.

The shocking news is that Raktima and Hemachandra are out in the first round.
