If I have to look at stage presence, yathart is way ahead of Hemant and reality a shows are about stage presence . Yathart is stage performer where Hemant lacks that. If one had to do world tours, I can see Yathart pulling the crowd with peppy numbers.....where as Hemant is more private show singer, where one enjoys soulful singing in a private show setting.

Pls Yathart fans, take this a compliment for yathart...he is a singer for today's generation.

Whoa, no comments here?

As much as we hate to admit it, stage presence has become a necessity in reality shows. Ideally, everyone already has the talent, it is how you showcase your talent that makes you shine and stand out against the rest.

People may claim that singers like Abhigyan and Abhijeet are better singers than Yatharth, that technically they have the better voice, etc, but the truth is that Yatharth's performances have an impact. His singing is memorable and he really knows how to hold the viewer's attention during his performance. I think Shreyasi has that same vibe, she makes you want to watch her sing, she creates an atmosphere and sets a mood.

This may not be Indian Idol, but in any reality show, it is highly significant how one presents themselves on screen. If that was not true, we'd just be listening to voices rather than watching these singers sing. Also, have you noticed how much the singers change once public voting starts- these channels, at that point, put time into developing looks for them, dressing them up right, helping build self confidence, and teaching them how to use the stage, to set a mood. And all of it is to garner votes from the viewers.

Stage presence is highly overrated. It is relative and few folks may be influenced by that, but this is saregama it has a reputation and standards where just by stage presence you should not be able to win. If yatharth makes it, it will solely be based on stage presence not singing and that will be upsetting to most music lovers, if not all.
Who says Abhigyan and Abhijeet do not have stage presence? i think they do, because they sing in a dignified manner doesn't mean they don't have stage presence. The energy with which Abhigyan sang 'pag ghungroo' and 'chak de India' and 'masakali' was infectious. The emotions with which Abhijeet sang ' gulabi aankhen' made sukhwinder cme up and dance spontaneously.
This is a singing show and will remian one. whetehr zee likes it or not people associate 'saregama' with good singers.
otherwise, Mauli and Shalini and Yashita would be legends. Not to mention, Aasma and even Afsha who earlier auditioned for the singing round.

WA and Zahida whatever you guys said is absolutely true.
Just singing is not enough, and that's why these kids change soo much from when they came initially to what they are now. Each contestant get's it's own style, stories etc so the audience can remember them and develop their favorites, so they keep hooked to the show.

And I think many people who vote, don't have much knowledge about music, so they vote according to who entertained them the most, which includes stage presence.

yes, talent and popularity dont go hand in hand anymore.

Here's how it works:

As aww said, just singing is fine in private shows. WHY? because the motive of the ppl attending these shows is to listen to good music.

but in concerts or competitions in front of a bigger audience, the goal of the ppl is to "have a good time" which does not imply singing.

Basically this is totally different from the old school of thought(where singing was given sole priority)

so as long as ppl understand this and try to give moreimportance depending on the place where they are singing, they'll be fine 😊

OBJ tumhare itne acche vichaar hai, kaise?😆
yea these shows are for entertainment purposes, why would a channel be interested in producing a show which had no trp's and hence no revenue? they want to include all sorts of aspects into it.
