I dis agree with u.. Thye r acting like big star even before they are. ID told why he left..do they have gutts to say why they did it? all they say is we have reasons.. Did they not sign contract and read the terms of the game? If they would have done all this before Debo's score was declared i would have saluted them. They are nothing but sore losers. yes they are young but thats why they have menotrs to guide them. so dont say they just 17. Vinit tells that he knows who sings how. Is he expert on Music now? why does he need guru or even OUR VOTES now? If they were asked to do this by their mentors then mentors are wrong and whole thing back fired on all of them... KEEP WATCHING RESULTS AFTER THEIR WALKOUT AND U WILL SEE.

Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra will make an appearance together

Glamour clamour on music contests
Sunday, January 29, 2006 | Television

Celebs throng Sony's Indian Idol and Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

Subhash K Jha

Rivalry between the two music contests, Sony's Indian Idol and Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma is acquiring a new dimension. Moving beyond TRP ratings and the level of participants, the two contests battle it out with their glamour quotient - that is the Bollywood celebrities making an n appearance on the two shows.

A bit of overlapping is inevitable. So Mallika Sherawat who appeared on Indian Idol last week, left the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa team in the lurch when she failed to turn up.

Now Tabu who's going to be seen on Indian Idol this week, has also agreed to appear on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Funnily enough she's supposed to shoot for both the music contests this week. Good friend Himesh Reshammiya who's one of the Sa Re….judges, convinced Tabu to be on the show.

The other big names are Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra who'll be seen together on Indian Idol on February 6. Their collaborative glamour quotient is part of their deal to promote a cola brand.

Also expected on both the shows are Suniel Shetty and John Abraham. Abraham was convinced to make his presence felt on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa by Subhash Ghai who appeared as a star-judge at the grand finale.

Celebrity guests gracing the show is just part of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa's grand plans in the weeks leading to the grand finale. "In fact we're in touch with other big names to join us in the finals which will be telecast live on February 24," says Sa Re Ga Ma Pa producer Gajendra Singh. The other star to be approached was Rani Mukherjee but she declined. "I love the show," says Rani. "And I'd have loved to be on it. But my dad isn't well."

Gajendra Singh sees the presence of these stars as a healthy development on the game shows. "The show gets a boost and the stars get some exposure. It's a healthy give-and-take. So why not?"

Do the stars appear on these shows gratis? "Not so far," says Gajendra Singh. "Everyone from Priyanka Chopra to Subhash Ghai to Salman Khan has been gracious enough to come on Sa Re Ga Ma free of cost. We had to pay only one star-judge. And he wasn't a film person."

Everywhere: John Abraham

For friendship's sake: Tabu

Oops! I did it again: Mallika Sherawat

Alvida, Vinit fans..... now, time to go to school and listen to the teachers.

Ultimate winner is zee tv, who started this war among the regions, knowingly, to get money out of fight... that's the reason, why in all the episode Shaan became the statistician to tell the tally... it was all Gajji's plan, we fell for it and now blaming each other.
No point,guys.

Let's enjoy the finals and let the music win. Best of luck to Debo and Hema (my 2 favs).... My all time fav is Nihira and she'll rule the bollywood pretty soon.

Mirror readers have reacted to the controversy on the popular television show Sa Re ga Ma Pa Challenge

In the January 18 issue, Mumbai Mirror carried the sad episode of the recent Sa Re Ga Ma Pa reality show, which we consider to be the best for new music talent. I have been seeing this programme since its inception and enjoy it to the core. Mr. Gajendra Singh has been hailed for it.

Though this channel we have seen advent of an array of playback singers like Kunal Ganjawalla, Shreya Ghosal, apart from Sonu Nigam and Shaan, who have contributed immensely through their hosting and singing talents.

The programme's all India talent hunt started with so much publicity and created unprecedented response for young aspirants. The process of elimination of participants through judgement by well-known musicians was going well like it has over the years.

But the sudden change in format that introduced public voting spelt trouble. In a country like ours where voting itself is a misused mechanism, I fail to understand how such a system was introduced by Mr Singh. Even if he did it initially to increase public enthusiasm and hence TRP for the show, he should have stopped it when ten were in the fray. These participants should have been tested through a set of reputed musicians for their selection and elimination till the winner was found. Mento-meter could have been retained to allow some personal rating of the mentors as a gimmick, but the final word should be of the judges present then.

It should also have been a weighted figure such that the maximum weighted vote from a state would not exceed 15 per cent irrespective of whether a candidate draws 80 to 100 per cent from a single state. This would eliminate any external manipulation or undue and unhealthy competition among participants. The unpleasant episodes in full public view I have witnessed on January 19, and earlier, could have been avoided. It should be an honest talent hunt, not a betting on someone who plays second fiddle.

I hope all concerned will get over their petty squabbles and encourage the right talent.

It is really very disheartening that Sa Re Ga Ma Pa music mentors are behaving like kids and not like mature people. Adesh Srivastava, especially, does not behave like a gentlemen. He has to criticise other gharanas without considering that in his gharana Hemchandra, who is not fit be a singer, has good hold in the South. In fact, his mother has gone to different states and pleaded for votes, which is why he has survived in the show. His father once passed the remark, when he was given a yellow light, that the meter should be checked. Is this the way mentors behave? They are making baseless allegations on the public, which is losing a lot of money to vote for these contestants. Then why this allegation on Debojit who has got 80 per cent of the vote for Assam. The public should learn a lesson and not vote.

Disaster!!! That's all I can say. I have been watching the show quite regularly. The last two few episodes have really been cheap. Are these guys playing with the viewers' sensibilities and emotions? If this is only a publicity stunt, I must say it is harmful publicity. For viewers, like me, who are ardent fans of music and who always rated this show and its singers above other shows this is nothing but a shameful act. What are these mentors and their disciples up to? Are they making a joke of the show or themselves? They need to apologise to the public for this kind of behaviour. Or it is better to wind up the show.
Sangita

All of these gentleman judges are culprits for employing tactics that go beyond fairness and professionalism. In the latest episode, both ID and HR were at fault. Why did ID do the drama of walking out when public votes and not judges that decide winners. Nihira got better marks from judges yet was voted out by public!! And HR should not have been a mentor at all. He is a completely unprofessional and incompetent musician. He is bad for show

I think Hemachandra had been very consistent. He doesnt copy any singer. Sings in his own voice. He had given lot of good performances. e.g. punjabi folks as well as emotional and touchy numbers. Be it light music, kavvali or pop, he has sang it the best.
I really think, Hema deserves to be the winner.
Vineet sings good, some songs were very correctly sung by him, but I think he tried to copy. And debojit has woke up now, he sang good in few performances.
If I had given chance to choose, I'll definitely go for Hemachandra.

I watched the Republic Day episode last night. Of the three, Debu sang better than the other two - Hema made obvious mistake (of forgetting the lyrics) and was punished on the Memtometer - which is fine with me. But he did not deserve 8's in the second round - he should have got 9 or 10 from both.

However, (much-hyped) Vinit's singing had blaring and annoying repeated mistakes of mispronouncing Saathiy-N and Yaaro-N (emphasis on the N). If I were a judge, I'd have definitely dinged him. Although he sang better, I cringed at each of the mispronouncing.

Did anyone else notice that?

Debo and Vinit are gonna fight the finals.... I think Hema and Debo's final would have been better in terms of singing... 😭 But I think Vinit's got the childish and hype factor with him....

And people have gotten so used to hearing Sonu Nigam, that they think thats the style every new singer has to sing in...(I always thought Vinit copied Md.Rafi but when he sings "Yeh Dil...Deewana" from Pardes on coming Friday...u'll know how he mimics Sonu Nigam).
