Mahi sis this is my written IF journey, which I explained to Bazzy Boy too. songs for most of them have been posted above but I shall post for rest later.
The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
Way back in 2005 was the first time I ever heard of SRGMP and my interest was aroused when I heard the rich soulful notes sung by Vinit at the auditions. His mentor was HR whom many hated but I decided to support him as I found him comical and funny at times. Of course Himmy Bhai was notorious for rude behaviour in public which I did not support; but I never disliked him. I always had a weakness in over looking everyone's faults as far as possible and never calling a spade a spade. Still some of HR's songs were pretty good compositions then and I marvelled at the depth of feelings that he could pour into a song. I told myself if only I could love so deep that I could be absorbed in a single thought ( I had tried doing it and had fallen asleep). This was when I was also introduced to IF through an intense search to know the SRGMP results in advance. First IF friend was Chits or my good Mataji ( then known as Chitraji). She was really great but had been bitten a few times by the IF Demons of those days, so I supported her in her posts and we used to spam and laugh. I potrayed her image as a classical singer and dancer, for the fun of it and she was happy that I had promoted her. I treated IF as a place of relaxation and general chit chat. I did not get into arguments as I had a policy of never arguing with ladies and agreeing with all the young kids.
One fierce tempered young girl who was really crazy about HR was Mariam or Anjely; living in the Middle East. I always supported her and she got banned a few times for getting too emo and fighting in the forum and starting several crazy topics. God Bless her soul and she still sometimes will drops me a note. Her younger sis is a great Aditya Fan who also drops into IF.
So in 2007 Aditya became the host I supported him too, and game across nice Adi Fans like Hindi Girl, Sonpan etc then there was a Grop of Amanat Fans whom I made friends with like Zaara. and Aneek Fans like Malaysian Girls, Lucky Jade, Belvue, etc. Sonpan's friend Afreen was a Junaid supporter. SRGMP2007 was most enjoyable and there were plenty of good singers and I liked Raja too n Himani, Hemu and Nihira. Nihira was just too good. I never was much impressed with Debu as I found he had a rather weak voice.👏👏
Then I also got to know Amir Hafiz supporters like Mike and Anzdesi (Ron) and his friends Anita, 2smart4u, Guardian Angel, etc and made a mess of the MOTW threads and the MODs allowed spamming on the MOTW threads. Also they had several other games like the chicken game and Radio programmes to listen to old songs and interviews of great actors and singers. Those days there were also several heavyweight song critics and music lovers like Barnali, Punjini, Rheemanshu, etc and of course my good buddy Bob or Quest who started several sufi song threads and later left as some of the MODs then were too oppressive. I had run into Bruno occassionally but never interacted much with her or Bruno as she called herself then; always thought it was a guy with a Dog's name ( but she was always cheerful and nice and courteous). Even now she is measured and on level keel.👏👏
New players and market makers entered the SRGMP arena after 2007 and I met Khaty Bhai who was known as Jojo then. I remember he would pm or MSN me and complain of being bored, he worked extremely hard too and never slept much. I gave him health warnings but he never heeded as he seemed to have several things on his plate. He introduced me to great ghazal singers and songs and was virtually a Vidyasagar on classical ghazal music and old Hindi songs. But he also had another side to him as Khatarnak (secret identity like Zorro). He always wanted to set things right and ensure everything went smoothly. I noticed that Kuhuji used to have a fair bit of dialogues with Khaty Bhai and that is how I also got to know her. True she has proven to be a great buddy too.😆
King Anu was fair and careful in his judgement n a great friend to have, Antar Bhai (the wanted one)was very professional and conducted himself respectably,
Gauri fun and naughty humour,
Varsha always involved herself in all discussions and was an Amanat die hard supporter,
Deewani was so sweet and nice and crazy about Sonuji n everyone called her Princess (which she actually was),
ROA was the funniest and introduced herself by proposing to marry King Anu (most hilarious) and everyone loved her for her energy and directness.
Slumdog was at loggerheads with King Anu and he was really so funny but always wanted to mix around. In cuteness and funniness Nazia and Cloddy Bhai were the very best and they founded the Spam Club . WA or Anju bahen and CG were two great pair of friends and I remember CG's most famous Triangle on the MOTW that ruffled a lot of feathers. CG or someone also depicted poor Guruji as some monkey and several exchanges followed about Guriya Rani. ROA loved to match Guruji and poor Cloddy Bhai as a pair. Cloddy Bhai cleverly tied rakhi with every girl so that none could pair him with any lady, but secretly Asin was his favourite.
Anju loved discussions and some questioned her about the Divine Lover whom none had ever met.
No fan can be as crazy as OBJ or Gengajetty2 whose love of Rafi is above all things.
Guruji is a great clever guy.
Aka was very clever and loved orchids very much. She proved a worthy opponent in the Ice cream event.
Mahi pleaded she was new and asked for help when she first came to IF and she has always been very friendly. Varsha was nice too n she loved n defended Amanat.
Surkilla came to the scene all of a sudden and proved that she was a serious "no nonsense" member who loved music. But soon she shed her guard and mixed well with all.
Then Bazzy came with his great knowledge of Arabic music ( which Asma n the oonth represented) rest is history. SDK needed no introduction too and started firing questions on all barrels.
Sorry if I have left any name out especially the newer members whom I have yet to know well.
Piya/ Ritzbitz came like a storm and talked of Desi Fashion n suddenly left.😆
I interacted with several members too like Mittijalebi, Khoobsurat, King Maurya n several others.
Exchanged infor with Mittijalebi on some Sikh family she was looking for in Singapore. she is very steady.
Other nice persons, I am so cute, Muskaan, Desi crowd, Hakka bakka, Vijay Vyas , Lordboomboom etc👏👏
Sorry if certain names not mentioned but luv you all the same n will get to know the new members too.
