Quick Review 3rd July

Far too much air time in the show was given over to the promotion of Saif and Deepika's new movie. Presumably the Lil Champs show is not doing so well financially if it has to prostitute itself like this. I mean, Saif and Deepika are fine as celebrity guests, but then calling all those other people, director, producer, whoever, onto the stage for some kind of presentation was far too much. Bollywood promotion running amok.

In my view, no performance was outstanding. My short list for award of the week was Yatharth, Priyanka and Abhijeet -- and maybe Shreyasi. Abhigyan was good except for breath control. Yashodhan sang reasonably well for a song out of his comfort zone. Antara also sang well, I thought. The others (Hemant, Shalini, Farah, and Swarit) did not impress me at all, although no one performed poorly.

The real problem could have been the song selection. Overall the episode was a bit on the blah side.

Aww, that makes me sad. I was hoping for some really outstanding performances this week. How sad. Anyways, I guess the whole promotions was expected. Usually, in most shows, popular actors/actresses don't come until the very end, when the audience is hooked. Its still pretty early in the game, so if Saif and Deepika came, the extremely long promotions would be expected, I guess. But that would've been acceptable if the singing was good. Anyways, perhaps tomorrow's episode will be better.

Nevertheless, I still want to watch the episode. 😃

Actually, my personal choice for best today was Abhijeet, if only because his song (Naina thag lenge) was far and away the most demanding technically. He did well, but not exceptionally. Priyanka's Tere bin nahi lagda was just as creditable. Shreyasi was technically very good with Hum tum, but the song itself is quite blah.

I think Yatharth got the nod because his song (Dil Haara re) was of the rousing, rollicking, crowd-pleasing sort. As long as a performance isn't outright besura, numbers like that tend to win out.

I have a feeling

Hemant is out next week.

I agree that choice of song works in favor of singer... but sometime singer can leave a mark on the song and make it their own...!!! well i don't know what am i saying for the sake of saying but there is some point...?? 😕 😆

Yeah he is !! one day getting sweets, other day holy water... and **he's background story at the start of song... i 2 luv such things its really thing 2 do...but not every time.

Since its competition singers should only sing well and leave rest of the drama for judges n host.

I also believe todays episode is not as great as I was expecting.
