ahhh just loved Yashita here!!!! say na na!!! soo much energy, expression and confidence...with sur and taal of course....though in reality show i guess performance counts more than sur and taal....its the same with live shows too.

Another great singer, not liked much by many....Excellent singer, very cute face, could shake her booty and such confidence....keep it up Yashita !!! she was my second fav contestant after prathiba.

Edit....Baz, check Asma out at 1.37....simply gorgeous! 😃ive got to say that...i follow this show religiously...and from all the faces my eyes have seen....asma's has the most beautiful face in my eyes...if only she wasnt that fake she would have been my fav too.....besides she gets bashed too...and i have the tendency to love bashed mushy girls!!! 😆

Edit, opps your name doesnt show.............................Ajnu.....................🤗

No offense, we are still good as friends can be...so no hard feelings or such 😊

And you say that all "confident gals" are bashed by the world - I don't think that's true at all. See, you find confidence to be the common link between Yashita and Mauli, and I find the common link to be lack of singing. From how I see it, singers like Sumedha, Vaishali, Poonam are all very confident singers. Granted there personalities were nothing like Mauli and Yashita's, but their singing was much better. Perhaps they were not able to shake their booty along with the beat, but their singing was outstanding that they did not need that.

When you mention Mauli and Yashita and label them as the "confident gals" - it makes me cringe. Is having confidence enough despite the fact that you can sing or not. I think you're confusing westernized attitudes with confidence. Just because one holds the in-your-face attitude, does not make one confident.

On this platform, contestants need confidence, performance skills, the X-factor, and above all else good singing. What good is confidence if it doesn't have the good singing to come with it? Or what is an X-factor if the contestant can't give a performance to save his/her life?

Coming back to Shalini, she's not a bad singer, BUT she still needs to work on her singing. She may be enjoyable to watch, but that does not mean that she's the best - she'll have a tough time I think later on, if she doesn't start working on her songs more closely.

Im only gonne comment on bolded lines,

First of all you say, that you notice a lack singing between Yashita and Mauli....let me name just a few songs that they have sang Brilliantly, Start with Mauli first

- Mayya Mayya
- Mast mast
- Ali Mohde Angna
-No entry
-Namak Ishq da
-Shaka Laka Baby and many many more

Tell me where she lacks singing? maybe versatility is a better word to use? agreed she may not be versatile enough and people label her as just good to sing '''item songs'' - now I'd rather be brilliant in one genre of song than be just okay okay in many genre....And Mauli is that..she is Brilliant in her genre of song, and no sumedha or poonam can do justice to the genre she can sing so well

Move on to Yashita...she was a better singer, some of her best performances

- Pari hoon mein
- Meter down
- hey Johnny
- Hulle re hulle
-Tandoori nights
- Raat ka nasha
-Teri deewani

and many many more....she was one of the Finalist, obviously she has something in her to get her that far...the public is not deaf..the public is what makes these rising stars or break them

Explain to me,where you see lack of singing? Versatile may be the lack of factor...but what these can do to in their genre of song..No sumedha, poonam or etc can give any justice to it...agreed they are good singers..but they sound the same...sweet, sweet and sweet...Industry has enough of sweet makers....we need something original, something different - Mauli Dave is the name for an original singer, different singer....call it nasal, call it screaming, call it screeching - But whatever it is...she is orignal. Yes they are Confident, and why are you cringing? they can sing confidently in their genre just like Sumedha and poonam can. I am not confusing attitude with singing...they have singing in them....and they dont have any in the face attitude either...they are just confident gals that believe in themselves....not poverty stricken...or all shy shy and sweet sweet and hide behind the camera....they are in the contest to stand infront of it proud and confident, not shy away from it...if thats attitude then let it be....and err whats wrong in shaking the booty? if they are enjoying it then let it be 😆 who enjoys staring at ( yes you have to stare, you cant just listen to them) singers who stand in one place like a frozen statue> move about...they are entertainers, let them entertain themselves and others. They have the X factor and they have the singing....listen to the above, and let me know where you see lack of singing...

One more request - i know i mentioned Mauli...But leave mauli outta this, please dont bash her. 😊

I wasn't impressed by most of Yashita's songs. I think the audience was just awed with the sounds she could make rather than her ability to sing well. I don't think Teri Deewani even belongs on that list. That was terrible when she sung it. Tandoori Nights was mostly sound effects. Meter down in no way counts as an actual song. I can't remember the other songs off the top of my head, but she rarely sung real songs and when it was a legit song, she struggled through the entire thing. Vaishali who was the other extreme irritated me at first with her overly sweetness...but she proved us wrong later. She was able to sing many songs and could actually sing.

The only reason Yashita made it that far was because the good singers were disposed of among the many TRP stunts of the other contestants...and Yashita had quite a few herself. On top of that, the top 6 weren't probably the best top 6 there could have been. What with all that hate for Asma and Debojit...no one cared about the other four. No one wanted another Bengali or a boy to win...so no votes for Soumen. That, and Yashita advertised her regional support in Dehli, because it was free land, so she had Marhashtra votes and North votes.

I'm not trying to offend you, I'm only trying to make a point. But I will admit that there is definitely a bias for those that sing older, classical, and mostly sweet songs...but in the end, they don't win.

No offense taken 😉😆...who is yashita to me anyways? a contestant whom i liked and my taste not matched by many...let it be the style of my life, the gothic look or singers lolz

Sometimes its not just about what you do rather the way you do it...i didnt like vrushali singing...and Yashita's teri deewani was appreciate by the judges themselves..and i guess they know music better than us dont they?

She was in the show because of the way she sang the song, rather than singing the song plain itself...

Last line - This music industry doesnt need another Shreya or Sonu - enough of them, they dont win cos they lack originality.

Can we see this all on radio?

Of course, there are many reasons why television or a stage is a better setting for a good singer. Exceptional singers have facial expressions, hand movements that take their singing to the next level. It is also heartwarming to see the light in their eyes, a furrow of pure focus and of course the joy when they enjoy what they do. Perhaps these are genuine reasons why video killed the radio star, you just cannot get these in television.

However, I think these factors are additives to singing. It is that extra notch that turns good singers into great. I still believe that pure singing can only be judged in an audio only setting. The reason being that no matter how objective we are, we will always be swayed by what we see. You go for the one who looks more innocent or whose smile is sweeter or who seems so hapless and trying so hard.

That is why I still stand by that a pure singing show would be a radio show. Also a pure singing show would be judged only by distinguished qualified singers and musicians, with no audience voting.

Reality shows on television are a whole different ball game all together. In fact they even rely on the lovely little bickering that goes on with audiences, perhaps more than the singing itself. After all bickering means people care and are watching the show judiciously.

Here's the thing, Sonuji and many other have said performance is important, because it is a television show and people are watching you, but you have to stabilize your singing and be confident in your singing before you can talk about performance. Our whole argument here is over confidence, but Shalini and Yashita don't have confidence in their singing. They only have singing in their stage presence. When you have confidence in your singing...that's what makes you worth watching.

Very well said, Ajnu!!! 👏 👏 👏 You covered it all. Many people confuse arrogant attitude as confidence and vice versa. Mauli had confidence, but for Yashita it was more of an attitude. BTW, Yashita was a better singer than Mauli, IMHO. Mauli got the hypes for her Mayya Mayya song, but she sang it out of sur from the original!! One can say that she added her style to it, but that's still deviating from the original - in that aspect everyone can claim to be a singer just that each one is singing in his or her own style!!

Mayya Mayya rendition on stage was the best by Anamika in LC2, and Mauli made it sound like a sensual song! With her good looks and style, along with her stage presence, that style worked for her advantage, but the truth remains that she sang different from the original!! When a MD composes a song, usually they follow a raag or mix up a number of them in the whole song - there is a reason based on the mood of the song, the situation, etc. It is disrepectful to them when one changes that and adds own style or tune to the song just for personal gains. Then why not write own song and compose it??

Vaishali and Poonam had the voice, sur and confidence on stage - never even once I felt that they lack confidence! Maybe Vaishali lacked the super looks but Poonam was very cute too. So I dont understand the scale used for measuring one's confidence!! I feel it's more about looks at the end - how pleasing to one's eyes the singer is!! In that aspect, I believe all six girls in LC3 have the cute factor! And I didnt feel anyone except Debolina lacked confidence on stage! And to me Shalini is overconfident which is a negative factor for a singer! And all the hypes she gets in fact make it worse for her and I feel sorry for her that she is only a kid and should be guided in the right path to become a good singer!

If stage presence is the factor required for a singer, how did Khailash Kher become a popular singer? How about Lataji and Ashaji?? How come Ushaji didnt become as great a singer as Lataji then when she had the absolute stage presence?! How about singers like Yesudas, ARR, Shankar, Abhijeet, Suresh, Himesh, Chitra, Aneek, Raja and all? In that aspect, Asma would be the best from C09 - she had 100% stage presence!! Now Bazy will be super excited to read this!! 😆

Oh fabulous. If the two of us were to sit down together, we could write a paper on this. 😆

Hey babes, of course no hard feelings. In fact, I'm lovin' how both of us are watching the show. 😆🤗
Now, I don't wish to discuss Mauli only because that'd be ridiculous. But after looking at this post and your siggy, I do want to say that I don't bash anyone - that's not fair to them or me. But yes, when one becomes part of such a big show, then criticism and praise are part of the game. And although you like Mauli and Yashita (which is of course absolutely fine) - most people like the appeal these two gals bring with them on the show. But the honest truth is that the other female singers on the show were far far better than these two girls in the true meaning of singing, and despite that fact, these two were praised beyond at least my understanding. Anyways, once again, not bashing - just clarifiy my opinion. 😊

ROA

very nice yeah yashita has alot of confidence about her i like that for her i liked this performance, teri dewani and rock on with aneek.

as far as asma goes her performance in wedding episode was simply fab she looked to having so much fun and the song suited her bubbly personality not only did she sing the song well but her performance was fab. i also liked when the judges especially adesh asked her what you call a dulha, dulhan in arabic.

ps i hope u don't mind but as u said in a previous post u support contestants that get bashed, its great to support the ones no-one else likes but please don't say that anyone of them fake i'm refering to asma of course, granted some of the stuff was scripted but the fact is she carried it well and made it natural, and perhaps some of the stuff was fake i'm thinking of her family issues here but who are we to say whats real and whats not we can't judge a person solely by what is protayed on screen, it may be the case as has been pointed out on many occassions that zee made her do all that stuff for trps now we can't say she's fake coz of that.

apologies roa this wasn't directed at u just venting in general not just about asma but i guess about mauli as and how so many here can come up with so many things to bash the contestants. they should be judged on singing ability alone

Hey, Baz - excuse me for intruding on this post, but my silly little heart could not help it. You say that we should all judge based on singing abilities alone - but if you look at it from our perspective, that's exactly what we're doing. Think about it, when you tell us that you like Asma, you say that you like how funny she is, you like her stage presence, you like her this and that, but never that you like her purely on the basis of her singing. Same with ROA, she likes Mauli's spunk, Yashita's attitude, etc., but not singing. If you do like Asma's singing - do you think that Asma was a better singer than Vaishali? C'mon Baz, I don't think you'd ever make such a claim. Don't get me wrong, I find your love for Asma awfully cute, I wish you were around when everyone was bashing her 😆. And I love ROA's support for Mauli as well. But, but, but, when you look at pure singing - these contestants were definitely not better than the ones that won. I hope we can all agree there?
