You can't really categorize them like that otherwise, everyone is going to pick the same option. I mean, no one is completely aware that they're picking based off of the other things.

1. One genre wonders- They could be very good at their genre with some variation of the same one it might seem like they're singing different types to the fan.

2. Slightly talented- If you're saying singing ability over voice, usually, the ability clouds their voice. It's all about song choice. If they pick songs best-suited for their voice.

3. The regionales- Again, most people aren't aware that they do this. But they become initially attracted to the contestant for their region. And then everything is magnified. If they are really good, those people will think they are the best ever. But if they are bad, then they will seem much worse. No one actually goes and says I'm voting for them because they're from my region even though they're bad. They genuinely think they are good.

4. The strugglers- Strugglers sell. You know, if someone says, "Oh, well, I've never had classical training and blah." People think "Wow, they've managed to get this far with their struggle. They're really good for having to deal with that." But then if they do it too much, they get negative votes. Like Tarun (though he wasn't really even good to begin with) and then Vasundhara. Even though she didn't do anything. I think from the year before, a lot of people assumed she would get pity votes, so they mentally just went against her.

5. Super talented all-rounders- Again, that's the whole point of the show. Everyone thinks that the people that they pick from the other categories belong here. It's not a conscious thing.

6. a) Judge's favorite- No one votes for the judges' favorite. They never win. The public hates their hype and doesn't vote for them. People only use them as their defense on here. If there ever is a judge's favorite, then everyone jumps to say BIAS and all of that.

b) Eye candy- All I have to say for this is : Deafened by love.

7. Performers- They like to get you excited and on your feet. Generally, their song choice disguises their lack of range and what-not. But no one likes a performance you can't get into. Our way of thinking is, if they get us on our feet, they are good.

8. Comedians- They only make it so far before their jokes start getting old.

9. Overrated- Again, they might be really good. But no one likes the judges' favorites. Our mental criteria of judging a song can be different from their's which is why they pick them. For them sur is the most important and for us the feel might be the most important and can overshadow the sur and vice-versa.

Underrated- We love the underrated whether they're good or not. When we watch it, we get angry the judges aren't giving them points, so we look for the good in their performances and the worst in the overrated making the overrated seem bad and the underrated seem good.

That was a commendable analysis, user "Chutney"

I enjoyed it

By slightly talented I mean a 6 tp7/10 rating in each aspect, ie voice quality, expressions etc
Not stupendous, not terrible.

Ankita is an example of a "performer": Terrible singing, constipated faces and primate like movements

Overrated and underrated by the audience I mean, not by the judges.

I think your poll is biased, you obviously want us to vote for the all rounders, and by posting this vote you hope to knock some sense into voter's heads, but let me just warn you right now -been there done that, and it ain't happening. So perhaps we should start rooting for the "bad singers" and maybe the janta will get it right and vote for the one that should win. Or perhaps this is all just wishful thinking.

Note: The singer may come under more than one category

1. The one genre wonders-
contestants specializing in only one genre - eg.Sufi,Folk,Dance based - Slightly irking according to me
Hmm, sometimes some of these contestants are actually quite strong. I loved Mussarat's Sufi songs - however, I do think that HR restricted him to one genre, when he could easily have sung something else in a different genre. But this one genre wonder can also be a bad thing - for example singers like Yashita, who are stuck in what they call "western" songs. I would add Mauli to the list, but I think she would be classified as a one song wonder - which was only a hit because of her outfit (ahem) - but I don't think she can be classified as a singer.

2.The slightly talented-
One cannot help but feel sorry for the contestants who sing reasonably well but really aren't endowed with an incredible voice
Oh you mean singers like Junaid, Sayon, etc, --- who cares about them anyways. They aren't going to win.

3.Regionales - It is:
a.vote appeals where they slip in unintelligible mumblings of their mother tongue
b.Cries of the respective region
Yeah, these are the singers who's name I might forget, but I'll never forget what region of India they are from - singers like Prashant Tamang (II), Ishmeet Singh (RIP-VOI), etc. I don't like such singers, I think they should be the first one to get kicked off.

4.The strugglers:
a.talented
b.untalented
Financial/Physical/Mental conditions given relevance over talent
Poonam's poverty, Asma's family problems, Debojit's mental state etc. ---- all BS. If they have so many problems, tell them to go sit at home and take care of their family/self and stop letting Zee use their real life sorrows as sources of revenue. What does one gain from shedding tears on national television?

5.The all rounders - Aneek Dhar,Anwesha Gupta,Vineet,,Aishwariya, even Abhas Joshi and Harshit Saxena are examples
The problem with these all-rounders is that they know they are all rounders. Arrogance seeps through in a lot of them. And that's a big turn off. I'd keep Aneek in the list, haven't heard the two girls, and I'd kick Harshit either to #9 or #10.

6.The judges eye candy:
a.Favourable physical appearance
b.Judges provide extra marks
Oh you mean Mauli, Jenice Sobti, Farah Khan's Vineet, etc? Tell the judges to have dates with them off the set. And spare us the misery of having them go gaga over someone who wears a mini skirt.

7.The performers
a.notable ddance skills
b.singing talent varies
Let's put Mauli in this list - I think she breaks the record for saying the word "mayya" on stage more than anyone ever has. Dance skills? --- send them to DID and let Terrence deal with them. Various singing talent? Send them to Anu Malik's new show.

8.le Commedienes:
a.Humorous folk
b.Again singing talent varies
Like Asma? Send her to Comedy Circus.

9.Clones of various singers like sonu nigam, kumar sanu, lata mangeshkar and many more
Tell them to find another career, we already have a Sonu Nigam, a Kumar Sanu, and a Lata. If we need another one, we'll call them. Until then, find a new profession, and enjoy their original singing.

10.The overrated and underrated
a.Good singers who are ignored by the voters and judges
b.Tuneless singers who are given importance - related to types no.1,4,6,7,8 and even 9.
A. This fits good singers like Amanat Ali, Poonam Yadav, etc. This is my favorite lot.
B. Oh you mean like Suhit from II? And so many more ---- that is my least favorite lot - kick them out and tell them to stay out.

Voting would be appreciated
But I don't know who to vote for. I vote for good singers and no drama. Which category would you say that is? I think its the one that doesn't exist. 😉

That one line dropped my respect levels for BEP. Otherwise I like Will.I.am. Also Daft Punk was already ahead with Technologic ,though - fergie is a "fag" I'd say 'fag hag'

and her "people in the place" was terrible

i wish to be as compact as the shapeshifting yellow object with triangles in the video* Is it a cross of transformers and magic mushroom?
