Yes Di, I am also not sure whether she would be as good a singer in other types of songs... And that girl from Calcutta who came with her guru - I thought she was good but she didnt get selected in the final audition. Then that boy from Assam who sang beegi beegi song so well was also eliminated in the name of versatility - why didnt they ask him to sing a different song instead? 😕

But Shalini is very cute - I hope the Yashita type attitude wont get into her! 😊

Ya Aku i listened to Antara and i loved her performance ...very deep voice for a girl of her age ..and well trained ..i loved the fact that she is fond of old songs 👏..and she already won me over with her voice and soul ...i loved the fact how she embraced that little girl from mumbai ..Ananya ...as her friend ...who has skin problems..nobody befriends this girl ..but Antara and her mom embraced her as their own ....

I love to read your comments when it comes to dance and music, as I know you wont miss the good ones! 😃 Yes, Antara has such a sharp, clear, crisp voice for such a young age!! She is not even ten I think! But she has a sad look on her face, and that breaks my heart - I like to see kids worry free and happy all the time. I felt so nice to see her pick Ananya as her good friend out of all the kids there... Ananya didnt get in the final audition, but I hope they have found good friends in each other and will continue to keep their contacts with each other... I actually liked Antara more than Shalini and the other two girls among the four selected ones...

Spam boy is online 24x7 and keeps a vigil on all the threads and especially the ones he has created or posted something!! I can only imagine how his screen is with so many windows open simulataneously and he might be clicking on each one like a video game!!! 😆 😆 Even with all the missile questions from all sides, he will still find time to send PMs to all his rakhi pals and spam!!!! 😉 😆

Yes, I agree about Ananya - she needs more training... What was the name of that Calcutta girl who came with her guru?? I thought she is quite good, though not as good as Antara... She didnt get selected either... Hopefully she will return next time... Some of the kids who came for the auditions look so big, that I find it hard to believe they are within 13 years of age!!!

Yep, I saw his answers - those IDs, I was like, who are they??? LOL... He is enjoying his stardom to the fullest here!! Remember he had less than 1000 posts in his count when he came here from DM after the SRGMP show had ended and look at the count now!! LOL... Is he reading all these?? Yeah sure they liked her for her singing and personality......with 40 % singing and 60 % personality which can fetch more votes & higher TRP....

I think there are two types of singers - one kind are the genuine melodic singers, the other kind are performers and entertainers.

The melodic ones are very vocally focused. Their voice quality is very high, their versatility is great and their skills are sharp. However, they tend to lose out on the more visual aspects. Music aficionados enjoy hearing them live or watch them perform, but most people would rather just buy a CD.

The performers and entertainers are mediocre singers. Their voice is tolerable, their forte is the peppy energy driven numbers and their skills are not refined. However, they possess good looks or charming personalities. They are either funny, sweet or highly energetic. Music aficionados maybe put off by the lack of genuine talent, but most people enjoy these people because they are the paisa vasool package.

In shows like this you have to really blow the top in one of the two categories. The show likes to have some of both in order to keep music fans as well as common non discerning folk.

Now until Shalini performs more songs we cannot tell which category she belongs to. A blend of both would be ideal. Nonetheless, I just love her.
