Here we will have:

Post 1:The basic setting of the Show and what it is about.

Post 2: Character Sketch, will contain descriptions and pictures of all Characters.

Post 3: The summary from Day 1 till now!

I hope all of you guys find it helpful. 😃

Setting of the show

Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, is a story of seventeen year old Laali's optimism about life and her courage and compassion when it comes to rescuing her family from the throes of hunger and abject poverty. The term poverty is a relative concept. Even after more than 50 years of Independence, India still has the world's largest number of poor people in a single country.

On one hand where the show talks about poverty, on the other it also highlights the fact that in this male dominated society, a woman has not lost her identity and has the ability to overcome barriers. Our lead protagonist, Laali, sets an example by supporting her father to run the family. The show shatters the age old myth about women being looked down upon in Indian society and at the same time brings to viewers 'another' India where people have to fight hard to house one square meal a day.

In the background of poverty, the extreme sacrifices that Laali makes is a moving story. This seventeen year old girl lives with her parents and her younger siblings in a village called Koyna in Bihar. They come from a low cast background and by profession are rat killers or 'Musahars' who help the Zamindars to protect their land and homes from infestation. The father scrapes together a small income and the girl does odd jobs around the village to support him. And like any other girl her age, she also dreams of a happy life after her marriage to a man who loves her. So will her dreams ever come true after a life of struggle and disappointments? Will her father be able to fulfill his daughter's desires after he has seen her give up her childhood to help him meet ends?

The Story from Day One Till Now!!!

The story starts with this family who live in a very remote part of of Bihar, India. They are very poor, and live in a small shed house, on the outskirts of the village. They lack basic facilities like power, water, and even food. The father(Nanku) tries hard to earn money so he can feed the family. But because he has a limping leg, no one gives him any work. So sometimes, the family has to feed themselves by either begging or sleep without eating anything. Laali, their oldest daughter tries her best to feed the family as well, she goes around the village and does odd jobs. But Laali is already married, at a young age, and the family is worried how they will mange to do her Gauna(farewell/bidaii) since they don't have any money.

Other families in the village have the same state as well. And one of the family is Sanichari's family who is Laali's friend, her family is as poor as her, and it's time for her Gauna to happen as well. But since her parents are very poor they decide to sell Sanichari, to Bali(he deals in giels). Sanichari is taken away by men his men, but Laali doesn't know that she has been sold, she thinks her Gauna has happened.

Worried that Bali might try to buy their daughter as well Nanku and Majri decide to arrange the money somehow to fix Laali's Gauna. After working in the field for the entire day, they manage to get 40 rupees, and Nanku uses this to go to Laali's in-laws. But Laali's father in-law tells him that if the gauna is to take place then Nanku needs to give 10,000 rupees.

Nanku tries to arrange this money be stealing someone's oxes, but he is caught and sent to jail, and in order to get him out they need to give 10,000 rupees. And more problems arises for the family when Munna and Laali fall sick. Majri has no idea what to do, and faced by all these problems she decides to agree to Bali and sell her daughter to him. Bali then frees Nanku from jail and arranges the medicine.

Once Nanku finds out that Majri has agreed to sell Laali, he is heartbroken and they decide to escape from the village at night, taking Laali with them. But they are unsuccessful and are caught by Bali. Nanku pleads to Bali to not let Laali know that she is being sold, and that she should leave the house as if her Gauna is happening. And finally the person who has bought Laali comes to get her, it's Ranvijay, thakur's son. They also make Laali do the Suddhikaran ceremony, so that she is no longer an untouchable. Laali then leaves from her her house as a bride, and her parents are left crying.

Now the thakur family is introduced. But when there is no one to welcome Laali at the thakur household she is confused. (Remember Laali doesn't know that she has been sold). Laali is taken into a old room by dai ma, and she tells her to sit there. Laali waits for Ganesiya(her husband), but no one arrives.

Ab aage dekhte hai kya hota hai😆

Character Sketch

Characters from the Koyna Village.

Aditya Lakhia as Nanku

He is the man of the household. Has a problem in one of his leg due to which, it's hard for him to find work. He is a very caring person, loves all his children. Tries his best to gather food somehow to feed his kids. Very hardworking and honest.

Tuhina Vora as Majri

Majri is woman of the household, Nanku's wife and Laali's mom. She too is a very caring person, and loves her kids. She supports her husband all the time. But was forced to sell Laali, because there was no other option left for her.

Ratan Rajput as Laali

She is the first child of Nanku and Majri. Laali plays the main lead in this show. Her wedding took place when she was young, with Ganesiya(they haven't shown him yet). But she still stays with her parents, because they were waiting for her to mature before they do her Gauna (Bidaii/farewell). Laali takes care of her siblings as a mother, and helps her parents as well.

Richa Mukherjee as Rekha

She is the second child of Nanku and Majri. Very sweet.

Shefali as Labhli

The third child of Nanku and Majri

Rafan as Munna

The youngest child of Nanku and Majri. He is a very sweet child, whom the entire family loves. Is always hungry for food😆, that's because they hardly get any😭.

Ganesiya
They haven't shown him yet. But he is the person whom Laai got married to when she was young. Though Laali has made a scarecrow/puppet of Ganesiya and used to talk to that. But when Nanku went to Ganesiya's house, his parents didn't let Nanku meet him. So there is some sort of mystery behind him.

Supriya as Sanichari

Is Laali's best friend (sakhi saheli). Her parents have sold her, she even tried committing a suicide once she found out that she was being sold. But was saved by Laali at the last moment. She has been sent away now, and is no longer seen in the show. Though Laali doesn't know that Sanichari has been sold.

Akanksha Gilnai as Phulbatiya

Is an another friend of Laali. She is married, and is quite filmy type. Since she lives in the city, she has become a little modern, and carries a cell phone and speak bits of English😆. Very helpful person, she tires her best to save Laali from being sold, but she couldn't.

Ajay Kumar as Sipahiya

Is Phulbatiya's husband. He is a truck driver, so they are in a better position than most of the villagers financially. He loves Phulbatiya a lot, and also helps Laali whenever she is in trouble. He and Phulbatiya both risked their lives to save Laali from being sold, but they were unsuccessful.

Anupam Shyam as Balli

Plays a very negative character. He is a trader of young girls. He goes and pressurizes poor people into selling their daughters. Also very dangerous as well, he can go to any extent to achieve his motif. He is the one responsible for getting Laali sold.

Characters from the Kisangarh Village, the Thakurs

Sudesh Berry as Loha Singh

He is the Thakur. A very strict man, who is also very religious but at the same time, he doesn't treat women well, even his wife. He basically runs the entire village under his own power. Now we will learn more about this family soon and what they do. But they have bought Laali from Balli.

Roopa Ganguly as Kaushalaya

She is Loha Singh's wife. A very quiet person. So far it seems that she doesn't have any say in the household stuff. And basically listens to what her husband says.

Sachal Tyagi as Ranvijay

He is the oldest son of Loha Singh. He is the one who went to the Village and brought Laali with him. He plays a negative character. He has bad intentions.

Sushmita Ganguly as dai(Gangiya)

She is the mistress of this Thakur household. She heads this girl selling business, for the family. Also a very cunning woman. Negative character as well.

😆😆😆 true anyone who heard his outburst about Musarat and Atif etc. will keep their kids away from Abhijeet instead of subjecting them to such idiotic behavior 😃 I'm not Pakistani and I still wouldn't want Abhijeet's attitude, thinking to rub off on my kid.
