Is the Competition Format Fair ?

First of all i want to start off saying that i am not an expert in the music industry however looking at the format of SRGMP i wonder if this format is fair for the participants.

As far as i know the participants would be voted based on the " popularity " of their gharanz. HR is giving music to most of the popular albums in the music industry so therefore his gharana is on top. Ismail Darbar though not making a lot of albums is liked by masses becoz of his hit albums like " Hum Dil Dey Chuke Sanam " and " Devdas "

Taking nothing away from Vineet and Nihira who are very good singers but just because they happen to be in the top 2 gharanaz would win with others having no chance to compete. Forexample.Sharib is in Jatin-Lalit Gharana, and i personally think even though he is not a versatile singer like Vineet but in his specific " jonor " of classical singing ...i dont think there is anyone better ( JL Gharana is at the bottom so he stands no chance )

I think this problem can be rectified by voting solely based on the singer irrespective of the fact which gharana he or she have been assigned into. Therefore if voting is done based on gharana then forget the sur and taal , the winnners are Nihira and Vineet without any competiton !

i completely agree with u. we should vote directly for the contestants! not gharanas...since HR's gharana never had any real competitive singers. also, people like sharib and vishwaas will be left out in the cold with this voting system.

i dont agree,c after this week,jaiho was getting high,n probably rock was unlucky,n their singers r also gud,n u will c whichever gharana wins,i hope its rock,ther will b mixed participants,my list is,
aishwarya,nanu,joyeeta(rock)ujjaini(dum)keka(jaiho),n sum boy frm ualgaar,probably irfan or any1 else

i dont like Adesh's gharnaa but i like vishwas who i think is very talented. AS 's gharana is 3rd soo talented ppl like him are suffering coz of the system

the voting for gharana's are only for bramhastra...to give couple of contestants..may be more wild entry to agnipariksha.....after that i think voting will be on individual performances...otherwise how can one decide among two contestants of same gharana???? 😕

To be frank, I am totally confused now with this hy-brid format. Agnipariksha, Bramhastra, Chakravyuh...eek. Wish it had been a bit more straightforward!

All that I want is either Debu or Hemachandra achieve a reward for their talent.

ys I 2 agree. voting shuld hv been for individual contestant.
yu might hv some gud contestant in a gharana which is coming 3rd
bt this format may leave that contestant out.
also all thse chakraveu and brahmastra r gting a bit confusing.

i think SAREGAMAPA is one of the most fair competitions i have ever seen on realisty telivision.

Before coming to gharana ratings, i wish to tell that the judging itself is so fair and so transparent that it never ever lets a bad singer pass off or get a green card than a good singer. The best judgement i should say till date is of Daler Mehendi. Quantitative analysis is always good anyday. I just came out of watching famegurukul and the stupid and horrendous way it is judged, and the to see SAREGAMAPA judgement pattern is of great relief.

Coming to gharana rating, who consist the gharana? i think the way we look at it solves the problem of if the comp is fair or not? before it was individual effort but if the contestants are called in based on gharana ratings,i think the winner gharana also will call its best contestants. Now that we are only in chakravyuha round, guess we wll wait and watch to see what happens.

i think the brahmashtras have been already decided irrespective of the voting- the mentors together have selected few contestants and those will be brahmashtra round participants. They will all perform in the same way as the chakraviuh round contestants and the judges probably will decide the two who will go through to the final or agnipariksha.

In the agnipariksha round, i think the voting will be certainly based on individuals and not on gharanas ( as there will be more than one contestant from one gharana for example AS has two girls and two boys).

I think then it will be fair.

Yes, as you said, Agni Pariksha round will be purely based on Individual's voting. Each contestant will be given a spearate SMS Code and a Toll Free Number for Public Voting.
