Regionalism = Higher TRP =Vaishali disadvantage?

Watching the shows for 16th/17th Jan 2009, Zee is obviously promoting regionalism for Higher TRPs.
It is quite natural for a singer to turn to their own city/town for some Home support.

But Zee seems to be over doing it.

North West singers for Yashita and North East singers for Soumen.

So are there enough Maharastra singers/supporters for Vaishali???

She could be disadantaged by this?

India currently has a 1 billion population.

"The five states of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh account for almost half (48.84 percent) of the total Indian population.^["

^{So Vaishali may not be too far out hopefully.}

Although I support Soumen still I felt this point had to be raised.

This problem will be there for a while.

I think it is not purely voting but a mix of votes, calculation and last minute unforeseen decisions. So Vaishali still has a chance, also when you participate in such a show which is 1/3 talent 1/3 TRP , 1/3 adjustments and zero imaandari, focus should be to showcase talent and accept the result whatever it may be.

One third talent seems quite terrible, especially in the Finals.

There is also a lot of hype.

But I agree we just have to accept the result whatever it is.

This is what I always say and how sad it is - come on people forget about the regionalism and any other biases and vote for the deserving candidate

Zee is doing a lot of regionalism to gain votes from all over India. I am not a Yashita fan, but I think it was unfair on Zee's part to ask Yashita to perform in Delhi, Delhi being her father's hometown. This is really stupid on Zee's part. From the beginning of Ch 09, Yashita was called the Mumbai girl. Just because, Vaishali is also from Mumbai, and Zee needs votes from Delhi, at the last minute, they portrayed Yashita as the Delhi girl....

Interesting , Delhi Girl.😆

But she was vying for Punjabi votes I thought as she sang Punjabi song well, and Soumen was pure Bengal votes based on support from Debo Saha , Debo Dutta, Aneek, Sanchita, Abhijeet etc.

Was nice to see Debo Dutta enjoying himself the most.
