I have a lot of good and bad memories - good news first or bad news first? 😕 Well, lemme put them in any order...
I started on this forum primarily as a reader this season, and I was only a reader last season too. Somewhere sometime, I was prompted to make some comments and little did I know then that I will eventually get hooked on this one!! I have seen a bunch of members on other forums and so there were familiar members and unfamiliar ones and didnt make any difference to me at the time... For some weird reason, many perceived me as a guy!! And boy! Did they treat me like one?! Oh yes, very much!! I dont wanna name anyone here! 😉
I used to post my views occasionally, and didnt get noticed much and so it was okay for me and I carried on. Once in some discussion thread regarding Indian singers and Pakistani singers, I wrote Pak for Pakistan and Paki for Pakistani, and one member called me all kinds of names under the sun for it!! I was shocked, literally!! It hurt me a lot at the time... I was only trying to same my typing time by doing that, the same way we will write US, UK, NZ, Aust, etc. I responded explaining why I wrote like that and no bad intentions were there... He didnt stop (it has to be a he; among gals, only 'amazing' ones can use that kind of language), so I got fed up of the name calling and responded with so much anger - telling him to mind his words! The next thing I know was that I got a warning from the mod that I will be banned!! I didnt get banned, but my post was removed, whereas the other guy managed to stay!! But he eventually got banned!!! 😆 😉
Then the next one was my rough edge with King Anu - yes, our very own Kingji!! I started that for fun but I think he got offended by my jokes! FHK started the thread and I joined in along with others as part of the proposal fun... But I was stubborn - didnt give up easily! Kingji, it was only for fun, and no offense!! I was going through a lot of stress at work at the time and so this forum helped me to relax that way!
Then Kingji went to exile and then came Khatarnak! I honestly believed that is Kingji in disguise and used all available opportunities to poke him with my suspicion! And of course, I got into his bad book too!! But only later I realized, all of them were harsh with me because they all thought I am a guy and so their male ego might have triggered them to stand up against me!!! 😉 😆
Summer ji has always been diplomatic - I have noticed that even when I was a nobody and just a reader. BTW, that reminds me, I became a member long time after I became a reader - I didnt need to login to read until they changed that for some of the forums, especially to read updates, and also to post comments!
I always stayed away from Gauri - didnt wanna get burnt!! 😆 Naju - I got closer to her only recently. Cal-gal, Varsha Di, Hira, FHK, Bruno, NF, *king*ji, goltv, Guru, Antar, shehzaadi, chitraji, Girija babu, etc - so many of them, I hope I havent missed out any, I came to know them better and found a real desi connection here - beling like home away from home! Though I didnt care much about most members when I started, it all changed in no time!! We all could relate to things discussed here so easily and we found a family here - a real cyberspace family (or a startrek unit?)!! 😆
OBJ - it is another story!! His comments used to irritate me, honestly, and I didnt know it was him coming with all the MIDs - rafifan (I used to read it as rouffian and thought it suited him well 😆), Babu Mosai (with Rajesh Khanna avi), Baba Ramdas, etc etc - I wonder whether he also has lost the count!! He changed his tone a bit later - wait a minute! he hasnt changed, has he??!! 😆 OBJ, only a joke, okay?
Then King Anu's departure threads, FHK's spamming, Khatarnak's shayaris, Antar-Summer-Jojo trio making plea threads one after another for Kingji - so many memories are there! The Mumbai incident was a vulnerable period and I saw a lot of hate posts appear too. and so many newbies sprouted from left and right daily with hate posts and no mod in charge!! Honestly, a lot of them made me even more depressed and puke that I even thought about not visiting this forum again, but used to make short visits to see how things are going, especially to check whether my friends are active or not...
At the time of SRGMP idle time due to the strikes and mumbai incident, it was King Anu, Summer ji, Jojo, FHK, Antar, Naju, etc that made this forum active and worth visiting with all the beautiful songs posted in numerous threads...
I better stop, else I will be labelled as a spammer now!! 😆
