The topic starter is also a Bengali who is in love with Rafi Sahab.😆Shreya has one of the best and most enjoyable voices.I think we should honour and respect all those musicians and singers fromvarious regions who contributed to the Indian and Pakistani music.
Shreya's voice suits the sweet and melodious kinds of songs. I think that Anwesha is more versatile. She has the incredible talent of making songs sung by various singers sound like her own. That's why she sounds like Shreya when she sings her songs.
It's just that Anwesha is famous for her mere dholna because of which people say that her voice is similar to Shreya's. Personally I think that Anwesha's mere dholna is at a completely different level. I'm not sure if Shreya could ever sing the parts that Sreekumar sang, like Anwesha did.

She has carried off a maiya maiya equally well (Although Anamika's version is my favorite).

Her Jaane kya chahe mann has a huskiness, and inspite of being husky it still sounds soothing to the ears.

Her mujhe rang de has the technical finesse of Ashaji along with a freshness.

She also carries off the band song "O meri jaan" so well.

If you listen to her "Hum dil de chuke sanam", it also sounds like the KK's original.

But coming back to the topic, I do think Shreya's voice is unique. It is uniquely sweet.
