by unique i think what OBJ is trying to say is that when the person sings a song, NO ONE can sing the song in a similar way.
shreya's voice doesn't qualify as "unique" because anwesha and many other girls can sing in a similar way.
however this doesn't mean that shreya's voice is bad or anything. she has a beautiful voice and i'm a big fan of hers.
an example of having a UNIQUE voice is mauli as mentioned earlier.
cuz when she sang a song, it didn't sound like the original at all. let's take the eg of her version of mayya mayya.
after she sang it, many other singers sang it.
but they sounded NOTHING like her. neither did the original.
that's what he means by UNIQUE --> no one can copy you.

try copying rafi.. atmost you'll only be able to get 1aspect of his voice.. shabbir kumar and mohammed aziz got the "chadhthi jawani" and "main yat jamla pagla diwana".. but they lack sophistication hence they can only do the cheap dance songs..

I wasn't even thinking of LM in comparision to SG, I thought it was implied we compare only with contemporary singers. SG's voice is different from Sunidhi's.

Whose songs do you find boring SG, Alka's or LM? They all sing in the same genre of mostly light music. So if you find one of them boring you must find them all boring?

Okay if we take Mouli's example her voice is unique but that does not mean she's a good singer, SG is a better singer in her comparison. Uniqueness doesn't mean good voice quality.

i said voice megha, NOT songs.. voice enhances the songs. and not quality of voice, uniqueness.
