Mauli has a unique voice and so does Ashweraya..

I love Sherya's voice for its sweetness.

Shreya? you mean Shreya Goshal? I love her voice! Its simply amazing! I mean..there can be no comparison to Lattaji or Ashaji or Alkaji even..because she came into this industry later, and she is less experienced compared to them, but right now Her voice is sooo beautiful..and in the future it will be great to ask the same kind of poll questions only for another singer, and have a poll choice that says, "Unique, but I liked Shreya, and alka, or lataji's better". Do you get me? It would be great to see her mark made in the names of singers that made indian music history.

Yes OBJ You Doofus 🤣 Your choice of words...Its on the poll 🤣

I don't care whether it is unique or not....She sure has sweet and beautiful voice and sings soooooo perfect...Her voice does not shreel like Alka when she goes into higher notes...

BTW all bengali female singers do not have similar voice but many male singers sound quite similar & are nasal if I may add 😳

Baron ... you doofus! What's wrong with you? You're not smoking pot or anything are you? Haha, just kidding. 😆

I will try to make this short, but your comments are really bugging me ...

Shreya Ghoshal has a beautiful voice, she has given the industry so so much. There is a unique texture to her voice, that she can manipulate in many ways. Her voice has versatility yet never loses that Shreya touch. You can always detect her voice in any song. Now, Kavita K. and Alka Yagnik also have very beautiful voices, and I will say this, it is harder to sound just like them, but I don't think that takes away from Shreya's voice. I know that you're not doubting her talent (or you better not be), but I think you should listen to her songs again. For example, the song Dola Re (Devdas) is sung by Shreya and Kavita K., but both voices are extremely melodious and pleasant. It might be that you prefer one voice over the other, but I don't think it makes her voice less unique.

Songs like Piyu Bole (Parineeta), Silsila yeh Chahat ka (Devdas), Morey Piya (Devdas), Barso Re (Guru), Jaado Hai Nasha Hai (Jism), Suna Suna (Krishna Cottage), Pal Pal Har Pal (Munna Bhai), etc. all have Shreya's trademark voice stamped on them. No question.

I think you need to listen to these songs again:

Now as far as your constant comparison of the little girl's rendition of Jaadu Hai Nasha hai goes, if you recall Sumedha's rendition of the same song, I believe it was quite close as well. Plus, all singers have clones. You pick any random 10 singers from India, and more than half of them will sound like Sonu Nigam --- but that doesn't mean that Sonu Nigam's voice isn't unique. Although they may be able to copy him, its that certain characteristic of the singer's voice - that can't be put into words - is what they're missing. Same applies to Shreya Ghoshal --- just because someone attempts to imitate her, and in some cases, might be able to pull it off, doesn't mean that her voice isn't unique enough.

Regardless, when you put any of these "clones" next to Shreya's original voice --- I can bet you that you're going to prefer Shreya's voice. Her voice has a certain charm, its charismatic and full of strong emotions, yet also playful and innocent when needed. I would suggest listening to some of her duets --- they might force you to change your mind.

And it breaks my heart to read that you think Mauli has a unique voice, but not Shreya Goshal. You know, Shreya will most likely be able to pull off Mauli's Mayya Mayya (of course, a change in her dressing style would be required, i.e. shorter skirts) but Mauli would never be able to render Shreya's Piyu Bole. (No offense intended at Mauli, of course).

My two cents. 😃

so did that deepali of this years' srgmp
don't get me wrong.. she's one of the best SINGERS , only as far as voices are concerned.. she just doesn't have the romantic identity of lata, asha and especially alka..
o sure, alka's voice is dreadfully screechy now, but in her prime her voice had that identity to it which noone could copy.. just like kavita ji.
lata had the best of both worlds..
plus, i dont care for shreya's duets.. not enough romance.. but i love her solo songs.😊

I really like her voice, specially in Dola re dola (Devdaas) and Tere hath me( Fanaah). Infact I found her part better than Sonu in Tere hath me.

Actually, you'll be really surprised to know that Mere Haath Mein (Fanaa) was sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and not Shreya Ghoshal. And yes, that is a beautiful song, I think Sunidhi Chauhan should sing softer, romantic songs more often.
