Since I started this thread, I feel it is my responsibility to higher the levels of members like 'timesaverr'.

Dekho beta 'TimeSaverr', We all are participating in a english language forum and when we write other language word ('tharakki' in this case) in English, what happens is, the English spelling of the other language word can be spelled the way the author feels comfortable of. Not sure how this is related to accent (???). Spelling and accent or two different things. Do you understand?

I don't know where you come from (bihari or pahadi…) and not that I am interested in it either. But the following piece of information will definitely lift your comprehension/knowledge levels.

Beta, actually 'tharakki' as you may be thinking is not a Hindi word. It is an Urdu word (yeah sure, go ahead and search the entire web!).

Actually, if you want to spell the way it is pronounced in Urdu, then it should be spelled as 'taraqui' or 'tarraqqee' but not 'tarakki'. Here the 'qui' is pronounced as somewhat similar to 'khi' not 'kkkki'. Do you understand?

Don't worry; it is possible you may not know everything that you think you know. Sometimes you need people like me to enhance your knowledge levels. Wish I meet you sometime so that I can explain to you the differences between how other language words are pronounced vs. how they can be spelled in English.

Regarding second language…when will you guys grow out of your small wells??? You call it a fact? Whose fact? Your fact? My suggestion to you - if possible, try to visit and interact with other peoples outside your locality/town/city/country/domain/office/club to grow out of your underdeveloped understandings. Let me guarantee you, your vision will certainly enlarge and you will not comment again on a silly thing like a spelling…God bless you…

I love Hemchandra's voice. He is only 17 and he has a long way to go .Regarding the south indian accent i dont agree every south indian has an accent. There are certain words which are stressed in Hindi like bha where as in south it is just ba so such differences can be taken care .There are many south indian singers who have been very successful in Hindi .Example Shankar,Kavitha krishnamurthy,KK.Bengali's have accent too but they are excellent singers in Hindi.
Being a south indian does not stop anyone from singing Hindi songs.

Agree with what you say.. there have been so many singers in bollywood who sing with an accent.. example.. Bappi lahiri - HE had a terrible bangali accent so why blame the south indians..

so.. how does one define a hindi accent? biharis got the right accent? or do the punjabis speak with the right accent? or the bengalis? or the rajasthanis? (always thought ila arun had a terrible hindi accent). i think hindi is very regional. (the same as english.. where different people across the globe speak with a different accent.. )

I think hemachandra is a pretty good singer. accent or no accent.. he does know his music. loved his lekar hum deewana dil. hope to see more of him.
