We are not as open minded as we pretend to be, why do we really have to be so personal - the liking or disliking should be based on talent/performances and we should not get personal - Sara may not be the best of bunch but then so are the others with few exceptions - what is wrong if she is addressed as being Pakistan ki Beti - no one critised when Aneek was addressed as Bengal kay Tiger or Raja Hassan as Rajistan kay or Raja Hindustani (is it a real big deal). I know Sara is getting a lot of projection and that's only because of her personality, on the other hand some of our own (Indian) participants got the same projection as Poonam (2007), Aneek (how vocal was HR), Vishali - so please stop dicrimination on the basis of nationality.

IMHO, it has nothing to do with what she addresses herself. And I always raised my comments based on her singing alone - I just cant stand it. I never enjoyed her singing from day one, when she wasnt yet known for her drama and all that. After all, respect is earned, and she has to work towards it if she needs it.

It was Shankar who first addressed her as Pakistan hi beti when he accepted her into his gharana. She started using that term after that round. Shankar is someone I have a lot of respect for, and I never felt anything awkward about it so far.

Jojo you quoted me on another topic. I always write about contestant's singing and not anything else.
I understand that person should get respect but respect is also earned not demanded.
So if she consistantly sings well w/o any drama attached she will get the due respect.
I like her and Asma both but their singing is not as good as other female singers.

Nothing personal this is just a musical contest and we should not get personal that's all - calling names (like nautanki etc. is not appropriate.

On the contrary, I think sara has gotten lot more than her fair share of respect that she truly deserves and it has nothing to do with woh kis ki ya kahan ki beti hai😊

Fair criticism about singing is acceptable. But personal attacks and name calling is not acceptable. Which country a person comes from should not matter and most members do not care about this. Yashita too received an equal amount of Criticism, even though she has claimed the top spot in singing. To my mind I think it could be due to difference in personality. Most of us get along with certain persons and do not get along with others. It could be pyschological or chemical or otherwise. Some people like those with a cruel streak and others are programmed differently.

What I dont understand is why Sara wants to prove she is only Pakistan ki beti, a gayak doesnt belong to any religion, region, community, we have loads of bhajan done by M Rafi, ARR has done ramleela for swades and and many Hindu singers have sung allah many times in several songs, just google this and there are 100 songs in each category.

I saw a spotlight where they were celebrating Eid and she said (customary) aur pakistan ki beti ka aap sabko eid mubarak, no one else said like this, c mo n Eid is celebrated all over be it Pakistan or India, this could have been avoided, one must become a good person that is the first step to becoming a great singer. Sorry but she comes across more as politician than a singer.
