Here are excerpts from his interview regards why he doesnt get period movies and plagiarism:

Would you like to score music for period films?

Given a chance, I would do a great job for a Bajirao Mastani, Mughal-e-Azam, or a Lagaan. But my image comes in the way. People forget my music in Asoka. They will only remember my Judwaa. Some composers have to prove themselves all the time. I am one of them. Besides, I wear jeans and a T-shirt and appear flamboyant. Maybe if I wear a kurta and pyjama and sport a teeka, or turn elusive and work at nights, they will come to me!

On Plagiarism:

Let me tell you why! It is not downloading, nor technology like MP3, nor piracy. It's just bad music! Why are we still seduced by The Backstreet Boys and Whitney Houston? Why can't we be original? Why should people pay money to listen to poor music? The pop element and the obsession with sound and technology is a passing phase.

At present Pritam has formed his own niche and staying tall despite all these "controversies" surrounding him...😉

I'll wait few more years to come up with suitable comparison ....😊

can you pls shorten your siggy and make it simpler, just a gentle request.

Now you would be startled to know that amnong albums which have done very well this year are mostly AR Rehman and Pritam's work. Early in the year Jodha Akbar's song was replaced by songs of race and later on Jannat on music charts of India and now when JTYJN was rocking it was given stiff competition by songs of Singh is King.

Anu Malik's compositons are not close at all. Actually ARR is given tough challenge by Pritam's song on music charts. BTW Pritam's best year was 2006 followed by 2007, this year again he is happy.

Indeed, controversies and Annu Malek are two faces of the same coin, as he makes more headlines for the wrong reasons than the right ones. But this survivor has qualms about his past or his deeds! I am the most zabardast composer in Bollywood. Remember, I have a track record of churning out hits one after the other. Normal people dont carry brain coz its imbeded in his head, whereas so called King doesnt hold brain in thier head and they have to carry by himselves. But these days king doesnt even carry brain thats why king and kingdom are obsolete these days.

There is a singer from Pakistan Ali Zafar, he is handsome and pretty Ok with private albums, two of his songs were plagiarised. First one rangeen was lifted by Himesh and used for Aashiq banaya Aapne, the other one was channo which was plagiarized by Pritam. Actually Pritam not only lifted the song but also wantedAli Zafar to sing it, isko kahte hai chori aur seenajori..😆
