The Friday show was the first show in a long time for this year's Lil Champs, where I felt unnecessary words were being floated around and where competition was being hyped up. The 2min videos of the children, asking them who they saw to be weaker wasn't needed. Yes KK's and Jay's comments were not really needed and were bordering on the insensitive. It lingered for a bit too but was forgotten by me as the show is too great to think of such matters. The only thing that irks me is this need for the judges to start to bracket the kids into top 5 or 3. They're kids and thus such matters need not be mentioned. Give the children confidence that they can be a winner and that they can edge closer to the finish line. But don't tag them already! Anyway, Sat's show made up for that. And KK has clearly given an apology for it, although baat itni bhi gambhir nahi thi ki bechara ko yeh sab karna para. I think one thing I am treasuring this year is the quality of the childrens' voices and the camaraderie between the judges. I also love the different genres of music being explored. Love it!

I personally think two topics is not necessary on same subject, simply because the comments would be scattered in two different topics and it would be difficult to follow.

I am very touched by KK responding to the concerned fans - He could have brushed it off, but chose to respond.

I am not sure if he will apologize on national TV - however if he does, he is gonna put Barnali in an akward spot - I don't think these children are used to hearing an apology from their gurus.

PS: No offence meant to anyone here, we all are music lovers and have best interest at heart for these kids. Thanks to all those who voiced their concerns - the result was fruitful in my opinion :)
👍🏼

He should have said 'No, I think you can win', just to keep her happy. That made her cry. Even her own guru didnt believe in her. Then Adnan said that being in top 8 is like winning. Yeah, may be but that still sounded like saying she can only make up to top 8 , not beyond that. Adnan is always most affectionate towards children in this show. He cud have managed the situation a bit more carefully. We wudnt have felt this bad for Barnali

I think both Barnali and Adnan were caught off guarded - but Adnan was very realistic in saying he sees her in top 3, which is a huge compliment.

I think the channel has edited out some parts - because how is it possible that when Barnali was told by Jai "Kisi ne ye nahi kaha ke aap winner ho" - the camera on Alka, Adnan, Kailash showed they were all smiling ... didn't make sense at all.

@ Bold: Having seen friday's episode only, I completely agree with this, Neets! The two minute videos in the name of 'lets get to know these kids' were absolutely not needed because they weren't done with a genuine sharing type attitude. There were lot of things said in those interviews by children, that I was well shocked about. And it really made me wonder! The kinds of things that these kids said (or rather were made to say if that is the case) can affect their performances, and more importantly their brother/sister/friend relationships that they share with other participants. But overall, all the judges have been fair in their criticism for the most part. And like you said, Neets...it is better to treasure the talent that these kids have rather than getting bogged down on such petty things. Every one is a human and mistakes can happen. And knowing KK from having watched him, he really wouldn't mind apologizing again on national TV if asked to do so. So yeah, enjoy the show everyone! :)

I had picked up on KK's bias several weeks ago, and now it has become obvious.

He needs to calm down. He is not a messenger from God. He is a judge on a singing competition. His comments should be focused on the singing, not the other rambling he does.

He is also very rude and interrupts everyone with screaming of random slogans.

Rimsha said in that 2 min video that she finds Niladri her competition, but how many of you noticed that she was wearing a different dress when she said that ... infact right after she said that, the dress was back to the one she started with...this tells me that the video was edited...some of the things were added on ...

It appears that Rimsha is very sensible girl and didn't want to name anyone who was weakest, and my guess is she didn't want to say who was her competition either so I guess they edited the video by adding a clip from the some other time.

yeah, that is possible. We might be seeing a video that has been edited extensively. We are wasting our breath without any idea of the real picture.

Very true... I dont think all these were shot at one go... There were many inconsistencies like you pointed out... I also think there was just no need to feature that 2 minute video for each kid and asking them questions like who is competition and who can go out... All the kids are so good, what is the need for creating any controversy around them!

I am never in support of contestants being probed with Qs abt other contestants or their personal comments being aired on TV..It does not sound good to the audiance and not good for other kids either..
It leaves bad taste in each other's mouth and in viewers minds..
