this is a great thing that's taking place on i-f. I don't think that there should be a rule on the no. of posts, but if there is, it should be at a minimum, let's say 25 or 50. Due to this, the approximately 2640 members with 0 posts may start posting😉

good idea vijay, but what is the min post that a person should have?

hi,

i do not want to sound pessimistic, but pray, i do feel that a number of points would have to be considered before such a huge thing could be organised....this would help prevent bias and partiality in the results.
though the idea seems extremely enticing, i do think it would not be possible to have a perfectly balanced award ceremony here on IF....

1) the mods and vijay would know it better than me but am i wrong if i state that more than 65% of the traffic here is because of the JJKN forum...

2) even if we do not want to skew the results, we would end up doing so as fans of one show wouldnt even know the characters of the other shows.....

3) Then, this would be more of a popularity award and I do feel that serials like JJKN & KYPH would take away most of the awards (just like it happens in the case of movies in fimfare/zee awards).....I feel we should try to work to achieve something more than voting based on popularity

4) By the way how would we reach out to the actual actors/actresses that they have won an award in the most important TV serial website in the world? Would they actually be awarded an IF Trophy/medal/certificate - I mean how do they benefit apart from knowing that so many voters voted for them...Will you be looking out for sponsors to host the online ceremony...

5) as mentioned above it is very difficult to keep track of spammers. if the rule of minimum posts or time period is stuck to, the newbies will feel discriminated. on the other hand, if everyone is allowed to participate, i wonder if there will be entirely fair voting....

last but not the least, we are the biggest tv serial website thanks to you vijay. you have brought a whole community together. we would like to see our senior members like the admin team (esp you), global mods and mods receive recognition and awards as well....(something on the terms of the best employee award)

What do you mean by best channel? Do you mean to include StarPlus & other such channels that are aired only in India? We get an extremely limited # of channels in the US which broadcast serials.

Are you talking of only Hindi serials? Because I see IF has a Tamil serial, and a forum for Pakistani serials.

It's of course a very ambitious project, but the guidelines must be made very clear up front, other than blocking spammers or letting only groupies & above vote - what languages, what channels, can a person vote in each category, and so on...
