"They do not know we stand united"

Prime Minister full of admiration for the people of Mumbai "Nothing will break our resolve to deal with terrorism" Urges citizens not to be provoked by rumours

Manmohan Singh New Delhi: In a forceful expression of the country's resolve to fight terror, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday told the enemies of the nation "no one can make India kneel." In a short but assertive address to the nation, the Prime Minister said, "it is not the first time the enemies of the nation had tried to undermine our peace and prosperity. These elements have not yet understood that we Indians can stand united. That we will stand united. They have not yet understood that we will never let them win."

Photo Gallery: Mumbai Suburban Train Blasts: The Day After Dr. Singh, speaking in English and Hindi, commended the people of Mumbai and Srinagar for returning speedily to normal life the day after the blasts and grenades. "This is living proof of our contempt for terrorism," he said. Commending the "good work" done by the police, security forces, railway staff, firemen and medical personnel in responding to the blasts, he conveyed the nation's sympathies to "those who have lost their loved ones." The Prime Minister was full of admiration for the people of Mumbai. "Mumbai stands tall once again as the symbol of a united India. An inclusive India." He said none could come in the path of India's progress. "The wheels of our economy will move on. India will continue to walk tall, and with confidence." Dr. Singh assured the nation that "the United Progressive Alliance will do whatever is required to deal with the challenge at hand. We will win this war against terror. Nothing will break our resolve."

The Prime Minister ended his speech by urging people to remain calm: " Do not be provoked by rumours. Do not let anyone divide us. Our strength lies in our unity. Let us stand together as one people," he said.

its soo sad that this event happened. im soo disheartened to watch the sad videos of devastated people on the news. im sure that god will help all the people who have lost their loved ones and i pray that all the souls of people rest in peace......

guys its a bad time for alll u need to understand its not a point abt being an indian pakistani kashmiri or who so eva who knows how many indians muslims n kashmiris have lost dere lives in this event y fight abt it u shud care n help ppl who r injured n still dunno wat is dere destiny instead of fighitng over to free kashmir or wat so eva n as for RAJEEV HI HEER u r no one to jugde ppl abt who dey r b4 saying anything luk at ur own morales...C mon plzz guys dun get mean at dis point of time we need to stand up for each other n every1 has the right to express wat dey feel like aint dey???we r democratic or autocratic dats for us to decide if we call ourselves democratic den y aint we givin the feedom of speech????learn to face things n neva say anything against one another as ur remarks can a hurt a person foreva!!!!i hope u guys understand wat i mean...huh....

May god help those families who lost their loved ones in this disasterous incident. May god bless the injured victims with courage to move on strongly. May the souls of deceased victims rest in peace..

kashmir is and will always remain Indias, it is Indias crown, Indias very own flesh and blood, there is no question of letting it go, or bending before terror , blackmail, and crazy people , and such greedy people will not stop with kashmir, their demands will increase, first kashmir, then some other state ,there will be no end,
what sought of people are these, who want control of a state when their solution to problems is killing innocent people, they are evil, dirty minded people who dont know what a family is ,what worth of a life is,
and those who are supporting them surely dont know what it means to loose a member of a family, they have yet to sense the fear that we may not see some loved one anymore,
and someone is talking of getting hurt by our comments, think of the hurt each victim of the bomblast and their family is going through,and last fifty years we are subject to such pains, think about it

Please lets stop arguing about what is right and wrong. That is what the
terrorists want. They want people to react and they want communal
disharmony. Terrorists are NOT hindus or muslims, they are not
kashimiris, they are not Indians, they are not even HUMAN.

My heart goes out to all those who lost their loved ones. It was shocking
to see/hear the news and being a Bombayite I felt the pain of the city.

However, I would like to say one thing - we always talk about the spirit of
Bombay etc. These attacks are repeated on our nation time and again and
we sit back help each other and move on. Should we not react? Should we
not send a message to the terrorists that we will NOT sit back and
tolerate any more?

i am from bombay and thankfully, me and all my near and dear ones are all well. My sister-in-law managed to escape the blast at one of the railway stations by a few minutes! It is so sad to see all of this happen in the city that i love so very much. The reality of it all is still sinking in. Sadly I have to accept the grim fact that when we leave home for work in the morning if we will make it back in the evening - in one piece!! It is all very scary.
Although I made it to work yesterday and today after Tuesday's tragic events, I was quite dysfunctional and feeling quite low.
But then -- life goes on! I love the spirit of bombayites. everytime it gets a blow it never fails to rise and soar again!
