Hi Zaara25,

Well all the features when introduced were meant for an ideal world. Since we cannot track each and every topics/posts that is discussing the Celebrity we take into account which has the celebrity name tagged to it like the Pics, News, Profile comments.

None were meant to be filled with spam and we are working continously on improving this. More ways to filter spam comments is being worked on.

We tried various ways to keep a check to avoid this, for example more then 1-2 comments per picture, news not allowed. Even the comments feature that was on Profile was for the Celebrity to read the feedback from his/her fans. We do not count multiple views from the same IP even.

We NEVER encouraged people to game the celebrity rankings. We do not count MIDs in the fan counts rather tried to make things difficult for such manipulation. But fans are fans ... 😊

So I feel its the fans who has to use the feature in a normal way and not to worry about the Rankings as that way the results will be more natural.

For any system there are always pros and cons and we are working on improvising it. Its difficult to keep everyone happy but we do try to please as many we can.

Some ideas work and some fails and we make amends and try another. But we are happy that we do not fear from trying new things.

Thank you for replying... I agree with what you have put forward... But even Im not sure when all this ranking became a rat race... I have to admit lately i haven been coming here regularly or commenting on my fav celebs profile because i just don see the need to do it regular basis... And even the rest will say yes they don need to do on regular basis... But all this race has made fans to comment everyday even if they are not free...I have frens who are busy in exams and work life yet spending so much time hre just for the ranking... Wasnt IF made to let fans to come here and enjoy their time?? Now i don see the enjoyment at all... I used to have fun HALLA BOLing for my fav stars.. BUt after a certain point of time, i have lost interest in it... And yes about two comments per ID, Vijay i think i need to let you know that its because of this exact rule why IF have been lately plagued with lots and lots of MIDs... its because of this rule, many are creating MIDs to comment more and keep their favourites on top...

I sincerely appreciate your efforts in helping to come up with new features to IF so we can enjoy this place better... But doing it will only bring about more clashes, which i feel You wouldnt want that... Yes you cant keep all fans happy, but dont you think by getting rid of the ranking now, would relieve alot of fans??

This ranking system, why is it important anyways? Its having more adverse effect on the members than anything positive. Even stars dont benefit much from it, those who r popular will be popular whether this ranking system is there or not. If this ranking system was to make I-F a better place- well it is not doing so, instead making it lose its charm and day by day with more additional features to the rankings, just making it worse. So why not eradicate the root cause of the problem? I honestly see no logical purpose for it.

I agree...the ranking system should be removed now as there are MIDs..We people mostly spend our time commenting in FCs to get a decent ranking for our fav stars...clashes between the fan groups , dissing each other's shows is only what I see these days here! Hardly do we have any discussions now ..which is the main thing we love IF for...And to add to this the new FB n Google + plus feature is so not a nice idea..

Well there are not that many MIDs as it is presumed.And we do remove them from time to time. We are already brainstorming on more ways to identify and remove the MIDs.

As we always said and would reiterate again that do not worry about the Celebrity Rankings and just enjoy your time on the site.

@bold: wish we cud do that. but thats really not possible. as long as the problem is there, we will face circumstances and not be able to enjoy and love I-F like before.

I just don know Vijay, somehow with all this ranking i cant seem to enjoy... I for one do not worry and thats what i been telling that i haven been commenting or doing anything regarding ranking... but i can see my frens are still doing it despite having so much of work they have... Even if we fans start not to worry about it, this issue will always be back of our minds and will not end this issue... Please do take this into consideration... About MIDs, they are there because of the ranking... thats for sure..

I appreciate ur idea of introducing Google+ and FB into ranking system but can't go beyong that..My POV is simple it is going to lead to more fights and it would add more insult to injury..Already this ranking system has so many loopholes (i.e MIDs) and which till date you havn't been able to control it...So this would encourage all the MID creaters to come up with more MID's on FB and also on Google+ resulting in more chaos...only people who don't have anything to do with their lives would encourage this idea..It isn't about how much craze is there among fans but it's about to keep the peace of the forum..So please try and fix this current IF Ranking system and MID's problem that would be best...

and Frankly speaking i think this ranking system should be ended as it only leads to fights b/w fans of different celebs for no reasons and fans go to any extent to insult a certain celebrity...So keeping the peace of the IF in mind don't bring this Google+ and FB thing into all this...Just work on the improvement of the current system..
