Oh come on, banning people for saying Thank You? It's a stupid idea to ban harmless people, when there are worse problems lurking on IF that should be taken care of. I mean, we have twisted and deranged people here bashing members and their families, and spending all their time stalking other members and tarnishing the environment with their vulgar, vile, and extremely disgusting comments, and we're worried about spammers and having them banned?
First take care of the shameless people who have the audacity to slander members and their parents, the stalking around IF, which has actually led to stalking around the internet. This is very dangerous and downright creepy, and the abuse of report button just because they are too faint hearted and sensitive to hear a word against a fictional show/character.
I think if people can't handle discussions, or any sort of negativity, because they live in some sort of psuedo, delusional world, then they shouldn't be on IF. There are many 'fanclubs' on facebook that they can join.
I dont' mean to offend the admins; IF has something great going for it, and it WAS great back in 2005, but unfortunately, it has devolved into a frathouse of sorts for the socially inept. Less than 90% of discussions that transpire here pretain to anything BUT thought provoking or substantial, and no point was this the purpose of IF.
Come on, we're all here to discuss, but that becomes difficult when we're being told how to post, what to post, and how much to post. There are many loopholes with this idea!

Hi All,

First of all thanks for all the suggestions and feedback you have provided on this. And let me clarify that we ourselves were not quite sure about the feature so thought of discussing with our members and I am happy so many of you did give your valuable input.

How about if we have a 50 characters limit. I guess that would be more like a sentence. This rule can be waived for certain sections like Chat Clubs.

Do not worry that 150 characters limit has not been implemented. We understand that many times there are things that can be just said in a line and for that you dont have to fill 150 chars to make a post.

We want to keep a check on those "Thank you" posts that are made just to increase one's post count as it pushes the main content under several pages down.

One idea that we were pondering is how about putting this character limit of 100 characters for Newbies / Groupies as that is where the most spams are being generated as people are new, unaware of COC and they just want to cross to another group level. We know many of us might have done those "Thank You" but later became quite active poster on the forum. 😊 By this system we just want that we are able to reduce workload of the moderators team.

Please feel free to let us know what you think about the same.

Somewhere I read that sucess has gone to our head 😊 but I just want to say that we still feel that there is so much still left to do that we cannot afford to let that feeling set in.

There are so many new developments to improve India-Forums and its network of sites that we are working on and we will be announcing them soon.

Cheers,
Vijay

P.S. By mistake I made this same post in the Hall Of Fame post as someone raised this topic there I got a bit confused. So posting it here also.

We want to keep a check on those "Thank you" posts that are made just to increase one's post count as it pushes the main content under several pages down...I agree..We see more of "Thank You" and "Agree" a lot in posts now..

One idea that we were pondering is how about putting this character limit of 100 characters for Newbies / Groupies as that is where the most spams are being generated as people are new, unaware of COC and they just want to cross to another group level. We know many of us might have done those "Thank You" but later became quite active poster on the forum. 😊 By this system we just want that we are able to reduce workload of the moderators team...I like this idea..There are lot of Newbies who abuse the system a lot by posting links from other websites or ad. etc..and there are members who just create another account to spam on some forums (We have seen this a lot in DMG forum) and this would def. help our mods..

Please feel free to let us know what you think about the same.

Somewhere I read that sucess has gone to our head 😊 but I just want to say that we still feel that there is so much still left to do that we cannot afford to let that feeling set in...We love what you all do..and the way you always interact with us..If success was gone to your head, we wouldn't have seen posts like these from you or any other Dev members...So Thank You for not letting success go over your head and staying connected with us...

There are so many new developments to improve India-Forums and its network of sites that we are working on and we will be announcing them soon...Can't wait to see those...

Cheers,
Vijay

Yes, 50 Character sounds a lot better , Because sometime when we play GOTW, it simply needs 5 Word or character but if this is to make I-F Better i am sure no will hesitate to accept this Feature.

Do not worry that 150 characters limit has not been implemented. We understand that many times there are things that can be just said in a line and for that you dont have to fill 150 chars to make a post.

I am Glad it hasn't been implemented Yet, because then we would just need to write something we are not thinking of , we will not be straightforward to the discussion .. So I am really glad about this ..

We want to keep a check on those "Thank you" posts that are made just to increase one's post count as it pushes the main content under several pages down.

This True, one does keep using tfs to increase their post, Instead of actually discussing the main point , So therefore again we can't actually stop you all from implementing rules, Because we are here for healthy discussion .

One idea that we were pondering is how about putting this character limit of 100 characters for Newbies / Groupies as that is where the most spams are being generated as people are new, unaware of COC and they just want to cross to another group level. We know many of us might have done those "Thank You" but later became quite active poster on the forum. 😊 Well i was also about suggests that would be possible for you all put up a rule where Groupies also can't post Links, because recently in many sections I have seen people advertising their website or many stuff, I think senior member should be allowed and Ladder Group above that .. this would help reduce the Spamming .. wouldn't it ??

By this system we just want that we are able to reduce workload of the moderators team.
Speaking of moderators team, I have noticed that most of the sections Moderators are busy with school , College Uni and More, I Know its a term discussion where You all Discuss among yourselves and choose the right person but if i may ask , Why is there that application thing implemented , where it says "Join The Dev Team" Under each sections .. Not only me But Hundreds of people applied for it ..
but yet there are no News, But i guess You all can atleast reply by saying unsucessful and reason for that, I Know it maybe too much for the admins to handle but there are people who expects something to happend, for example me .. I applied for about 3 Sections, where i am most active at but yet there are no news ... But then again one suggestion is that i Know GM's are normally the ones to handle all the PM's sent by people and close them for the sections Missing a Mod .. but isn't possible to appoint someone who is active a lot and Handles all these, this way it makes it less for the GM and Other Mods being inactive .. I have seen status Named, Super Moderator, Maybe You can all Appoint someone for that ..

Please feel free to let us know what you think about the same.

i stated everything i wanted to ..

Somewhere I read that sucess has gone to our head 😊 but I just want to say that we still feel that there is so much still left to do that we cannot afford to let that feeling set in.

Vijay Bhai, I Know You all are working really hard to gives us full on entertainment and there is a lot to do, but in order to them everything has to go smoothly . It's not like we are not willing to co-operate with you all but sometime people like Rules but sometime going way too strict puts someone off don't it,

There are so many new developments to improve India-Forums and its network of sites that we are working on and we will be announcing them soon.

Looking forward to them, You all can us for a co-operation without a hesitation ..
I Know You won't need help but i am willing to help if i can any possible ..

Cheers,
Vijay

Thanks
Imran

it's nice that u r implementing this in CC's but this will b problem in games in forums
