Hmm me to wondering why Sanchi is suddenly applying for a divorce. If Indu is blackballed from the uni due to the whole vote fixing scandal, then the fact that the students see her, his wife as a sour reminder of his presence, might encourage her to divorce him.
Also Indu's current mantra is that it doesn't matter who wins out of the two of them, as the post is still coming 'home' i.e both of them get a share in the victory as they are married. If Indu wins, Sanchi will be known as the wife of the class president and if Sanchi wins, he will known as the husband of the class president. Sanchi might then worry that Indu will take advantage of this fact and do certain acts with her supposed influence, that ruin her image.
And we all know how obsessed Sanchi is with her image now...
And when it comes to why she never previously filed for divorce, I think it was a mix of her super ego, and desire for revenge that prevented her. Indu married her, but also rejected her in the same breath, he also always said that he would never give her a wife's status behind closed doors. But now Indu has done a sudden u-turn after their time together in the jungle and is back to his semi Manju form.
Thus he now wants to be with Sanchi, and live with her as husband-wife, meaning he has bowed down to this relationship.
Before when Indu was in rejection mode and not willing to accept her, that was a huge insult and slap to Sanchi's pride and ego. She wouldn't have divorced him then as, there was a chance he would have laughed at her, and declared that he to didn't want her, and this was the reason she was divorcing him. But now when it's clear that Indu is the one who wants her, and that she is the one breaking this rista, her ego is satisfied enough to go ahead. She has won after all in both battles; she has taken Indu's seat of power in campus so he can't touch her there, also she made him break his vow of never accepting her. In the end Indu once again came back to her, she never had to bow down to any pressure he put on her to accept him.
Still in some form Sanchi has kind of accepted this marriage. Look at how touchy-feely she is with him, plus how comfortable she is being semi-nude and alone with him. Also when she accused him of rape, she accused him of martial rape. No one forced her hand there to acknowledge that the one who abused her was her husband, she herself chose to state that Indu as her husband forced himself upon her.
I think somehow that ploy will backfire upon her when she attempts to prove that she has never accepted her relation with Indu. If Saru defends him and brings up this point in court it will make her look like a spiteful wife, especially when you incorporate the fact that Indu never did any such thing.
