You are right that palak and Roop's bond is very strong. The CVs are developing theory bond beautifully before the leap. Specially, their scenes have increased in recent episodes as compared to previous episodes.

Please see the new promo of himani's marriage. Roop doesn't want his father's choice to be his sister's husband cos she wants someone who is just as roop and has a mindset just like his brother. Roop's decision for his sister's marriage will change the dynamics of relationships says the last line of the promo.
