The symbol of power burned

Power, the lust for power has always been the bane of human life. The power where only you, your family exists, the power that cannot be shared has resulted in wars, pains and all around destruction. The power that says I am right and you are wrong creates the cracks in relations which with time creates big quakes.
The story of Mahabharatha was also about power. It was also the story of the war. A war which was fought for the benefit of humanity so that we learn lessons from it and never repeat something like that in our life time. But alas we never learned, we ended up committing the same mistakes and throughout human history we created more bloodshed.

The ego of man, the " I" is the reason most wars are caused. Whenever the masculine aspects overrule the feminine aspects of love, care, nurture and empathy war and destruction happens.

The pagdi of Lal Mahal symbolized the masculine power. The power that made a mother send away her baby daughter to another family. The burning of that pagdi symbolized that Anami will be the medium through which egoes of everyone will be attacked. From " I" to " We" she will create the journey. A journey in which the power comes through sharing and respecting, not by snatching and keeping it to yourself. In that journey along with egoes of other people Anami's ego also will burn. But then it will cleanse her and will leave her free from the cage she is trapped.

It was a beautiful scene where Anami walked in like a queen. My God Mahima Makwana carries power like anything. The confidence brimming in Anami;s eyes, the boredom in Anami's eyes listening to Satrupa's sob story was really fantastic. You can watch the show just for her.

But plot point, the whole funda looks game of chess between Pujan and Guruji. All others are just pieces in the board, that includes Satrupa. We dont know how Satrupa's twin babies died in the first instance. Did Guruji told to keep one child away because of astrological factors or he realized if the child stays there it will also be killed. He wanted to reveal it only at the right time. He needed it to ensure the empire doesnt go to wrong hands.

Yes Satrupa send the girl away, didnt Guruji knew that. Guruji knows Satrupa very well. He would have also known how Anami is as a girl when he send Satrupa to her. I would say he is a very smart player playing in the back ground a person only Pujan knows is a threat to him.

Woww !! Another beautiful write up.

I just loved the way Anami walked in, her attitude and her swaha to the pagdi which is the reason for all the argument, and yes the masculine power in the family. Now that their only heir whom Satrupa thought would give her the power and status is no more, she thought of her estranged daughter and brought her back(though on the insistence of Guruji) which brings us back to your point. This seems to be an interesting chess game played by Guruji and Sudha/Pujan.

It also surprises me how Satrupa feels that a male child would bring her all she wants, while she being a woman herself is stronger than her husband.

@sweetzz that is the saddest thing about women. We dont recognize the power within and in our own way support patriarchy not trusting our daughters, daughter in laws, sisters.
Look what happened when 5 women came together. A religious practice that promoted gender inequality and patriarchy was struck down by the Supreme Court of the land as unconstitutional.

A very interesting and insightful analysis.

Guruji and Pujan understand each other perfectly. It's very apparent in the way they avoid direct confrontations.

You spoke of Anami's ego, something we tend to overlook in our sympathising with her. Arrogance in all its forms cannot sustain in the long run. It is self belief which lends that glow to her and walks with her like a queen. But there is a fine line between the two, and spilling over to the wrong side is easy.

That vulnerable side that reminds you just how young and lost she is, was so beautifully visible when she looks at Baldev and hears him saying how he didn't know of her existence. That slight hope in her eyes that at least one parent may not be culpable was poignant to see.

@devil-heart you always need to look the real players of the game, because that is where the game of power shifts its base. Guruji seems to be very wise and sharp, that is why Pujan is wary of him
@Arshi guruji and pujan loves to talk via mohras😆. It is so obvious. Coming to Anami see at this point she is the wronged one. She is completely right. As a girl she is entitled to feel that way and at this point she has not done anything wrong also. But as time goes by the " I" can make her do some mistakes the price of which can be huge. The realization will be her journey from girl to woman where she understands other POV also.
Satrupa has done gender bias in sending away the girl. She paid the price for that also in losing her son. But we need to look her perspective as far as sending one child away. It is the mother in her also that did it after what Guruji told so that both her children would be safe. Maybe it would have been that way if she had followed Guruji verbatim. Send the first child away which was Vatsalya. Her fear wouldnt be wished away especially when she had lost two babies immediately post birth.

Yaa that scene where Baldev talks and Anami looks was a good scene.

Hey!
An enlightening one!
Firstly, I must say that Mahima stole the episode all the way. Her stance, the walk, the dialogue delivery, clarity of speech, the emotions, each speaks volumes. She stood tall amongst all the seniors there.
A powerhouse of performance!!

Coming to the ego of Anami.
What we are seeing here as ego is suppressed anger and aggression towards the people who abandoned her after her birth. This attitude works as an armour for her vulnerability. For immense sadness she carries in her heart, for being a rejected child. That's why she hates her birthdays, which remind her of this bitter truth. Deep down she is a sweet, caring girl, who loves her family who raised her like a princess, a strong princess, who knows to fight for right.

I loved the swift change of the expressions in Anami, when she looks at Baldev. I think we will be seeing a great bonding between these two.

I would like to mention the actor playing Narottam here.
He is carrying his character to the T. Great performance by him.

Actually the entire cast amazes me. They are doing such a stellar job here.
Kudos to everyone!

Each episode brings upon more intrigue and anticipation...
Waiting for the next...

It was a beautifully scripted , tastefully done episode and you have brought out the zest even better, shruthiravi...initially when I saw in the promo this whole ' pagdi birning ' thing I didn't like it , found it a bit OTT but the way it came out on screen was totally a different thing altogether ... lo loved how gently but firmly Anami did swaha of the pagdi...loved her walk in Lal Mahal ...it was so aristocratic...Perfect...P

@Mimosa when I spoke about her ego I didnt talk about present. At this point her self righteous attitude is fine. But as days go by, her rebellion can break limits thinking she is always right. When limits get broken, it is when ego creates problem. At this point it is mostly self confidence.
@Navya that is why I dont analyze precap, because when you watch episode it will mean something else. Yes her walk was perfect.

That's right!
There's is a fine line between self confidence and arrogance, and self respect and ego. Both can overlap easily if one loses balance between them, blinded by excessive power.
It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds...
