Huzeifa - The Gambler? or Not?

Okay so we got to see the gambler in Huzeifa in the April 7th episode ... but my question is directed at not just this episode but his character's depiction throughout the series.

In this episode we got to hear from Huzeifa about how he ended up sitting down to a game of Poker and losing a large sum of money. Then we saw him get pulled into Sally's get-rich-quick-scheme. All the while he kept saying that he isn't a gambler and it is totally out of character for someone like him.

But is it?

We've seen Huzeifa gamble before in the episode where he bets on cricket games and is taught a bit about patriotism by Sally.

So is Huzeifa's gambling really that out of character?

I don't think so. I'm not a psychologist😆 but I'm pretty sure pop psychology would firmly place Huzeifa in a Type A personality group. He is somewhat competitive (a good trait to have as a business man) but I would think that competitiveness could be a positive indicator for a gambling-addiction.

So I personally would consider a gambling-addiction to be in-character for Huzeifa and hope that they do bring this to the forefront again.

The sculpting scam (man, I sure hope Sally got on the case of her 'friend' who so royally punked them 😆) seemed more like a rebound for Huzefia...he had bad luck with the cards, so he impulsively jumped at the first opportunity that made it seem like he could recover some money and have some success.

Gambling otherwise...maybe I'm pulling this out nowhere, but it can be understood as a way of making yourself feel accomplished and successful. After loosing once (or even winning) maybe you feel the compulsion to gamble again and again in order to have that winning rush. It seems a whole lot like Ruchika's self-esteem problems in this episode, no? She too was fishing for compliments to make herself feel better, and Huzeifa was jumping into all sorts of schemes and games to make himself 'feel better' too.

It has also been known that many gamblers gamble to alleviate or relieve depression. Anyone remember Sureena? 😛😆 So maybe, gambling is his rebound from Sureena.

@ blue: another very good point .... You may be right about that but I didn't see it as that completely because of the earlier betting incident but maybe Sureena acted as the stressor this time to set the gambling in motion again ..... I wonder if there was something when he was betting before 😕
