A disheartened Ananya walked back to her desk. She was upset with herself, partly because she knew she behaved like a nagging wife and partly because she was amazed at the thought that Kabir put her before his work. Right now she was thinking a thousand ways how she can make up for being an idiot and at the same time bail out somehow for the Maldives reporting by not hurting Kabir's emotions. She decided to go by the norm and apologize at a hand cooked meal with some dark chocolate cake to accompany; this had always worked in her favor in the past.

Kabir was dazzled to be welcomed home to a beautifully dressed up wife and the aroma of his favorite "Chicken Tikka Masala".

K: (smirking) Oh Ananya, you always take me by surprise! What have I done to deserve a treat today? Or should I imply that we are starting with early celebrations?

Initially Ananya had thought she would play her emotional cards, but the love that reflected in Kabir's eyes made Ananya guilty and she couldn't hold her emotions and decided to apologize and spill the beans. Before Kabir could say any more, Ananya made him sit on the couch and occupied the seat next to him. Holding his hand in hers she began:

A: Given that no person and no marriage are perfect, if you could pick my one flaw-the one flaw you could live with-what would it be?

K: What are you talking about? I am lost here.

A: But I am not Kabir, If only there was a verbal eraser for the things I said the other night. I really wasn't upset by your work commitments I was upset by something that's been building inside me, for the fact that I felt that you always put work ahead of me. But today when I came back to sanity I needed no reassurances and no words to realize what me and this marriage means to you.
Instead of enjoying what I have with you, I take the burden to find meaning in these unearthly materialistic things and I put it directly on our relationship, fretting over what the future may or may not bring. I let my stubborn independence go too far and then I explode.
But you, on the contrary, somehow always know to steer it the right way and make it happen effortlessly.

Suddenly I feel so small, because the only way to all the things you really want, and the fact that I want them too, is Love.

With all my heart I apologize for what I did, and I hope you'd forgive meJ

Kabir almost had a tear in his eye, and Ananya was quite emotional herself. Kabir said brushing his lips with hers,

K: Ananya you never have to be sorry for any of your actions or words, as that heart of yours belong to me and I know it's filled of love for me. I love you Ananya..

And before it could get any romantic or Ananya could tell him about her Maldives project, there was a knock on the door.

K: Who could that be at this hour of the night? I'll get the door.

Kabir was quite astonished to have opened the door to a smiling Khalid.

K: What are you doing here at this time?

Kh: Can we play questionnaire inside please?

K: Oh ya please come in

Looking at Khalid and Kabir walking to the living room, Ananya whispered

A: Khalid sir you care to join us for dinner? I've made some Chicken Tikka Masala

Kh: Wow sounds appetizing; I hope it's not too much for you if I join?

A: Not at all, please make yourself comfortable on the dining table, I'll heat the food and be back.

K: So what brings you here?

Kh: Ya (sarcasam at his best) How can I ever think that Kabir Sharma can let me eat in peace!!

Okay so am sure Ananya must have enlightend you that she agreed to go to Maldives to cover an important story for KKN, it so happens that she is covering a meeting of an important businessman (winking at Ananya making clear that their secret is still a secret) on Monday for which she has to fly out tomorrow. I just got her intermarry and I wanted to hand it to her in person and wish her a safe flight.

That was it, it all made sense to Kabir now, he felt betrayed and felt like a fool to jeopardize his own plans for their anniversary. His face clearly reflected his anger and eyes were spitting fire at Ananya. If anything Khalid did there was proved himself to be a perfect mother in law adding more fuel to their spat.
