CHAPTER - 6

For those readers who are thinking 'What the hell is this girl saying?'.. I would like to enlighten you that I am from Chennai and unfortunately Chennai is officially flooded!!

And guys I read your reviews too ( Which took 20 mins to load) and I promise I will reply to them ... Once my Wifi starts working. ( And I think that will take ages !!)
Here we all are in the dark , still stuck up in our homes.
I wrote this chapter in my book ( Just One month without college and I had forgotten to hold a pen ) ... Fortunately the power came for an hour .. And immediately I typed it down in my mobile.
But then again the rain gods blessed us with so much rain ... More than we could handle and BOOM !!! Power shut down strikes and the water raises to 7 feet !! And according to forecast it might increase to 13 feet too... !! *Tears in her eyes*
Back to Stone age !!
God !! Please show some mercy !!
I think one more week and I am sure to go mad !!
Okay so.. I think I should stop my rantings !!
Here comes the 6th chapter... Sorry for the delay but I know you can make a wild guess of my situation...

-THE PRESENT-
"3 years" - Kabir whispered out.
Shreya Nodded her head as she tried to wipe away the tears. But soon, a new batch took it's place. She said - Yes... Three years Kabir... Three years you were in coma... They told you will never wake up... They told you will die...but see.. I knew they were wrong Kabir... I knew you will wake up... And look, your awake... My Kabir is awake...
Kabir asked slowly - Where is Ananya?
Shreya just stopped. He looked at Kabir and stared at him.
Kabir asked again - Where is Ananya?
Shreya took a deep breath and said - Kabir, I think you must take rest... Don't stress... I better call The doctor !!
And Shreya got up. But Kabir held her hand and asked - How did I go into coma ? Where is Ananya? Tell me Shreya!!
Shreya kept mum.
Kabir asked again - Tell me Shreya...
Shreya took a deep breath. She said- It's better you don't know Kabir...
Kabir tightened his hold and asked - Tell me Shreya...
Shreya turned her head away from him.
Kabir said again - Tell me... Just tell me Shreya !!! I said tell me !!
Shreya immediately looked at Kabir and asked - Tell what Kabir ?? Eh?? Tell you that you went into coma because your car crashed into a lorry... Tell you that you were rash driving because you wanted to run away...tell you that you were so angry on Ananya because she leaked a news that you slapped her...and... And...
Kabir eyes were widened he asked in a whisper - And?
Shreya completed - And she died because of it ...
His heart stopped. Just stopped.
""From the time I have known you... It's only after your stupid reporter's entry did I see a smile on your face...""
Kabir nodded his head in denial. His heart was drumming in his ears.
Shreya came towards him and repeated - Kabir... It's true, Ananya is dead...and You were the reason for her death... Don't you remember?
Kabir kept nodding his head in denial. He whispered out- No... No.. Your lying ... Your just lying ...
Shreya's eyes widened and she took a step forward. Her voice was shaking she said - Kabir... Why should I lie? How can you forget it Kabir ? Don't your remember anything at all??
Kabir's eyes were red. He said out - No Shreya... Your just lying... I know... I know Ananya is alive ... Your lying ... I know she is alive...
Shreya took a deep breath and said- Kabir... I don't know ... I just don't know how can I make you understand... It's not a lie Kabir... It's the truth and its been the truth for 3 years... Why can't you understand?? Ananya is dead !!
Kabir shouted but his voice didn't have any power at all - Shreya just stop!! Just stop!! I know ... I know your lying... Your...
And suddenly Kabir felt as if he lost his consciousness.
Shreya rushed towards him and held his hand . She cried out - Kabir!! Kabir !! Are you alright ?? Please don't leave me !! Oh God!! Kabir !!
Kabir was feeling as if he was blanking out. He could hear Shreya's voice, but It was fading away. Everything seemed to lose it's colour. He left as If he was blanking out.
Kabir !! Oh God !! - Shreya Shouted.
Kabir knew he was drifting away.
""Kabir... May I come in?""
'Ananya' - Kabir shouted out when he opened his eyes. But Ananya wasn't there. Instead Shreya was staring down at him with tears in her eyes.
She held his hand tightly and said - Kabir ... Can you hear me ?
Kabir could see Shreya. He could listen to her but he did not want any of it to be true. His head was spinning. He knew he had heard Ananya. But where was she ?
Kabir closed his eyes . He felt Shreya's hand on his cheek. He immediately moved his head in order to escape her touch. But he was in vain.
Shreya said - Kabir... What is wrong with you?? Are you able to hear me ??
Kabir opened his eyes. But he felt as if his energy was draining every second. He didn't know what was happening. He said slowly looking away from Shreya - Just tell me where is Ananya...
Shreya took her other hand and placed it on Kabir's right cheek and made him face her. She said trying to control her anger - Why can't you just understand Kabir?? Just try listening to me .. I am telling the truth.. And It's not going to change even if you deny it !! Ananya is dead... It's been three years and you killed her !!
Kabir shouted - No !! I did not kill Ananya!! Just stop it Shreya !! Stop this nonsense!!
Shreya snapped out - Stop what Kabir?? If there is someone who is talking nonsense, then it's You !! Why are you trying to run away from the truth? Don't you remember Anything?? Anything at all?? It was all because of that murder case... Which occurred in that college...
" ANANYA COME TO MY CABIN NOW !!!"
"But... Kabir... I ..."
"I SAID NOW"
"Kabir... I... Its..."
" JUST SHUT YOUR MOUTH !!!!! JUST SHUT YOUR BLOODY MOUTH !!!"
" DON'T!! Just don't utter my name from your mouth!! You... You... You betrayed me... You broke my trust... You... You just don't deserve anything... ANYTHING!!! "
" Kabir... Plea... Please... Just listen to me.. "
" I ...SAID... JUST... SHUT ...YOUR... BLOODY... MOUTH"
Kabir !! Are you listening to me ?? - Shreya asked shaking Kabir.
Kabir stared at Shreya. She was looking at him with widened eyes.
She asked slowly - Do you remember? Eh? That night you were so angry ... You called Ananya to your cabin... You remember right ??? Tell me Kabir!!
" ANANYA COME TO MY CABIN NOW !!!"
Shreya continued - Tell me...Kabir...?? We all were shocked by your behaviour... You were so Angry !! She leaked the news you found isn't it? That's what everyone said... Tell me Kabir !!
""This is Junior Reporter Regina Marcus Reporting for NewsXS channel.""
Kabir's heart was beating so fast. Shreya held Kabir and said - Why aren't you replying? You remember, isn't it ? ... The moment Ananya entered into your cabin, we heard you shouting at her.. She was crying ... Myself and Khalid we ran down to stop any more drama... But... It was too late... When we came down we saw Ananya coming towards you ... I think she was trying to console you... But suddenly you... You just slapped her ... Kabir we were all shocked... You remember it don't you?? Eh?.,, Answer me God damit !!
Shreya took a deep breath and said - That slap ... I still remember it... We all were so shocked ...It's sound was heard so loudly... Ananya just fell down.. Her head hit the table... And you just walked out of the cabin as if nothing happened... And you left KKN ... We all rushed to Ananya... We found her on the floor ... And it was that guy... Roni who checked her pulse... But... Her heart had stopped Kabir... It had stopped forever !!
A tear left Kabir's eyes. He nodded his head in denial again.
Shreya said almost giving up - Kabir.. I really didn't know what to do... But it's the truth Kabir... 3 years ago you slapped Ananya and left her and ran away... The moment you slapped her .. She died... Ananya is dead Kabir !! She is dead !! And that's the truth...
Kabir could see Shreya's lips moving . She was saying something but he couldn't listen to what she was saying . Suddenly darkness misted his view. He felt his eye lids closing. And everything went blank.
Just Blank.
But he could only hear her voice so clearly.
" Kabir... Plea... Please... Just listen to me.. "

"But The Editor in chief is my future Hubby isn't he? "
Kabir woke up with a startle. He said out - How could I go to the extent of slapping Ananya?
Kabir looked around. The light coming from the windows were too bright for him. He blinked his eyes and tried to adjust himself to the light rushing inside him.
And finally when his eyes got adjusted to the light, Kabir felt as it everything was floating and he was drifting away somewhere.
Kabir did not know what was happening to him.. But he knew his body wasn't listening to him. He felt all dizzy and his mind wasn't allowing him to think properly.
Was Shreya lying ? Or... Was she saying the truth ? Did I ? Did I ? Really kill Ananya...? - Kabir thought to himself.
Kabir !! Your finally awake... - Shreya said as she entered the room. She turned around and latched the door shut.
Shreya was wearing another Saree. She had her clutch in her hand. She walked towards Kabir and placed the Clutch on the table and said touching Kabir's forehead - Thank God ! The fever went down... You were asleep for about 8 hours.. It's 5 pm now...
Kabir stared at Shreya . She looked the same. Nothing had changed in the way she looked -" Yours the same Shreya" - Kabir said slowly.
Shreya's brow furrowed and she asked - I didn't get you ...
Kabir looked away from her and said - Your the same cunning woman Shreya.. I can never believe you... Your capable of doing anything... Do you really feel I will believe in your lie ?
Shreya's eyes widened and she looked at Kabir. Kabir didn't look at her. He said again - Do you really think I will trust you? You destroyed my life once Shreya... And you weren't satisfied?? What's your problem??
Shreya took a deep breath and said wiping away the tears that left her perfectly kohled eyes - You know what Kabir ? I should blame myself... I should blame myself for following you when everyone was busy trying to call the police and ambulance to save the already life less body that lay in your cabin... I should blame myself for believing my gut and hiding you from the world...
Kabir at once looked at Shreya and said with his eyes in the colour of the sunset- Life less body?? Shreya, She was My Life !! My Life !! And you really think that I will believe your stories... Wow !! I slapped Ananya!! Ananya is dead !! Really?? Ananya can never die !!
Shreya looked at Kabir with open eyes and said - Kabir, that is the Truth!!
Kabir gave a weak chuckle and said - You know What ? I am not the same Kabir who married you!! I will never Believe you Shreya.. Never !!
Shreya tucked in a lock of her hair that obstructed her view and said - You don't believe my words isn't it? Wait !! Just wait !!
And she stormed out of the room unlatching it and slamming the door shut behind her.
I have to go from here- Kabir thought and he tried to get up. But he couldn't. His body wasn't cooperating with him and the more he tried to move, the more he felt dizzy. His vision was fading and everything seemed out of place.
Kabir looked at his hand. It was trembling . He tried to clutch his hands but that felt next to impossible. He looked at his hand and thought - Kabir ... Would you ever slap Ananya?
His glance fell on his forearm and he could see marks. But Kabir didn't know what it was. He tried to bring his hand closer to his eye but all of a sudden Kabir felt he would puke . His vision started to fade even further.
Everything seemed inappropriate. He couldn't focus anymore. Kabir's body was giving up. And Kabir just wanted to give up too. He closed his eyes but still he felt all uneasy.
"Kabir"
"Kabir... Wake up"
" Kabir ... Kabir"
"Kabir!!"
Kabir opened his eyes slowly but his mind felt the same , his body felt the same and it was the same Shreya looking at him. She said -Can you see me Kabir ?.. Eh??... You didn't believe me right!! Here look ay this !!
Saying this, she forwarded a newspaper and placed it on Kabir's chest and crossed her Arms and looked at him waiting for him to read it.
Everything looked blurry to Kabir. He slowly took the newspaper and looked at it. But he couldn't see it properly. Kabir blinked his eyes and tried to concentrate. Finally he could see a bit clearly and what he saw made him even more weak.
There was a picture of his Ananya. The smile on her face was full of life . He then looked above. The headlines was written in block letters -
"POWER HUNGRY EDITOR KILLS REPORTER"
" Kabir... Plea... Please... Just listen to me.. "
His heart had lost it's beats. Kabir looked at Ananya's picture . The smile was still there in her face but he knew she wasn't... " Did I really kill My Ananya?"
Shreya said - Now do you believe me ? Answer me Kabir !!
Kabir looked at Shreya. But he couldn't see her clearly. It was all a blur. He again looked at the article and tried reading it's content but every word looked and seemed the same. He couldn't make sense out of it. His hands started to tremble and this made the process even more difficult.
Shreya continued - Kabir ... I know you will never trust me... I lost your trust years back... But it's not about me !! It's about you Kabir... It's about your life!! That day I followed you.. It was raining so heavily... You were driving like crazy. And all of a sudden, you crashed into a lorry . I didn't know what to do. The Lorry Driver fled the scene... I immediately came to you and you were bleeding profoundly. With so much effort I took you in my car and brought you to my house. But by the time I reached home It was in the news everywhere about how you killed Ananya and ran away...
Kabir placed the news paper on his chest and let his hand drop on the bed.
Shreya came forward and said - I called for my private doctor and asked him to treat you... I payed him a large sum to keep him quite... But then... We couldn't save you completely.. You had slipped into coma and the doctor told you would never wake up.. But I had faith... I knew you would survive...
Shreya sat in the bed beside Kabir and said taking a deep breath- But by then the police had traced your car and guessed that you had met with an accident... They conducted a search in all the hospitals .. But they couldn't find you Kabir... And then you know... They even doubted me because I had immediately left after you that night... But with fake alibi I cleared my name.. Every one at KKN were an eye witness that you killed Ananya... Kabir you couldn't be saved... Even Ananya's mother made a press statement that she had made the biggest mistake by accepting her daughter's relationship with you... Complete Delhi protested against KKN and Ultimately KKN was shut down within a month ... Everything .. Everything is gone Kabir... Ananya's mother and brother left Delhi.. I don't know where they are now... Ananya's friends kept fighting for justice because you couldn't be traced. The court couldn't do anything at all... And I had to keep you hidden in my house... I couldn't shift you to another place too because you had become a most wanted person... And now finally after 3 years you woke up Kabir !! When I was about to lose my hopes, you woke up !!
She placed her head on her hands and took a deep breath.
Kabir was just staring at Shreya. But his eyes weren't giving him complete vision. He knew he would blank out any second.
Shreya lifted her head from her hands and said - And see. . When you wake up... Your not trusting me... Don't I deserve another chance Kabir ??
Just then a noise was heard. A music of sorts. Shreya looked at her clutch purse . It was her mobile ringing. She got up and took her phone from the clutch and looked at it. She smiled and said - It's Dr.Farosh ... Just give me a moment Kabir...
And she attended the call and went towards the window.
The light that was coming through the window was now less and it was orange in colour.
The sun was setting.
Kabir's eyelids closed by themselves and his body felt more weak.
His heart was beating so fast and he was sweating. " It can't be true... It just can't be true... " Kabir kept thinking. "I can't Kill my Ananya... But..."
He could see the headlines he just read fresh in his mind -
"POWER HUNGRY EDITOR KILLS REPORTER"
He felt Shreya's hand on his cheek. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at her. What was happening to him... why couldn't he see nor think properly...?
He heard her voice - Kabir... The doctor Said he would visit again tomorrow... Just try to rest... He said you will recover soon .. I shouldn't have said all this... I am sorry... I will be right back... I will bring some soup... The doctor told you can have some...
Kabir nodded his head slowly. His eyes gave in again. He closed his eyes but his mind was playing images of Shreya saying -
" Even Ananya's mother made a press statement that she had made the biggest mistake by accepting her daughters relationship with you"
"Ananya's friends kept fighting for justice because you couldn't be traced the court couldn't do anything at all"
"Ultimately KKN was shut down"
Cling~Tring~Cling~
Kabir could hear the same music again.
"Shreya's Phone" - Kabir opened his eyes and she wasn't there. But he could hear the music again. Kabir turned towards the side and it was coming from the table near him. He couldn't see clearly, but he was sure.
Kabir slowly tried to reach for the mobile. And finally he reached it.
Kabir brought the mobile towards him. He couldn't see properly. He strained his eyes to look at the caller. But he just couldn't .
After so much effort, he saw the callers name and seeing it, his eyes widened.
It Said - "KKN"
And then the door nob turned.

She turned the door nob and stepped inside. It was pitch dark. She slowly made her way inside and switched on the lights. The room lit up. She took a deep breath and kept her bag on the sofa. She went to the balcony and opened the french door. She stepped into the balcony and looked above at the sky. The moon was out and she could see some stars too. She closed her eyes and with that the tears that were brimmed in her eyes came down wetting her cheeks. She took a deep breath and said out - I can't lose hope... I must be strong... I must be strong...
She let go of the iron railing and walked into the room. She sat in the sofa and she started to cry. She said out in-between her sobs - What wrong did I do ? ... Why are you so angry with me ??... I love you Kabir... I just love you... Why didn't you just listen to me...
She wiped her tears and said in a whisper - It's been 3 Day's Kabir... 3 Day's since you left me... Where are you?? Please come back Kabir !!! I am scared... See... I am in your home waiting for you... Please come back Kabir... I know your angry on me... But please come back... I love you Kabir...
She heard her phone ringing.
Immediately she took the phone and said trying to hide her shaken voice - Hello... Inspector Kurana?... Did you get Any news about Kabir?
Inspector Kurana replied - Ananya.. Where are you?
Ananya said slowly - At Kabir's house ...
Kurana hesitated for a second and said- Ananya... I know your stressed... But we have got a news... And it's true...
Ananya felt the feathery run of Adrenaline rise up her spine on her neck. Her skin tightened and she felt a sensation that came close to light-headedness'. She asked in a whisper - What is it Inspector?
Kurana replied slowly - Ananya... We found Kabir's car abandoned near Ronara Forest... And from the looks of it.. It feels like there had been a struggle...
Ananya's eyes widened and she asked - What?? So your trying to say that Kabir was abducted??

Like I said this is a completely planned fiction and nothing has been added nor deleted , so try going with the flow. ( LOLs Chennai is already flowing )
