It was rustling of some paper...that made Kabir open his eyes...for a moment he was disoriented...as he felt a crick in his neck...looking down, he was surprised when he saw Ananya nestled against him...He inadvertently smiled as he noticed his arm around her...she seemed so peaceful in her sleep 😊😊...tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, it took a moment for him to realize...wondering when she came up to the study 😕...he remembers about Aryan, coming up to him for "neeni time", but with him being bzy with an urgent work, he just made Aryan snuggle upto him... as he settled on couch completing his work, while Aryan cosily snuggled him clutching onto his t-shirt not wanting to let go... Gradually he himself drifted off to sleep...🥱 But it surprised Kabir that he didn't realize that Ananya had been there as well...as she snuggled closer to him, he watched her for a few moments...She looked so perfect... & he couldn't explain why, he couldn't tear his eyes away from her...why it felt so right having her in his arms...his thoughts went back to kiss, they shared the previous dinner...why everything seemed perfect with her around 😊...

Hearing another rustling of paper, he came out of his thoughts & his eyes went searching for Aryan as he didn't wanted to move,being careful not to wake up Ananya

Kabir (softly)"Aryan...

That moment the rustling of the paper stopped, & hearing Kabir calling him, behind the table...Aryan stood up with a dimpled smile on his face...scrunched his face as he saw Kabir smiling at him...& excitedly waved his hands calling him to join where he was...
No doubts Kabir wanted to go to him, but Ananya was so sound asleep that he couldn't bear to wake her up...Still he let out a slight laughter, causing Ananya to stir and open her eyes... Her eyes trailed upwards and she saw Kabir looking at her with a smile that put her at ease for sleeping right next to him...

It took a moment for Ananya to realise too, how she ended up here, last night she had been looking around for Kabir & Aryan, wondering where two of them vanished after dinner...& Dats when she had found both dozing off on the couch... the sight made her smile, 😊😊 as she saw Kabir asleep on the sofa with his feet up on the coffee table, with Aryan sleeping on his chest...& the file almost half way sliding down, which he might be reading...as she made a move to take file out of his hands...but as soon as she pulled it away...the slightest of movement made Aryan open his eyes and whimper... sitting beside, Ananya just patted him back to sleep...Aryan watched her half asleep, Ananya waited for him to fall asleep again...which eventually he did..but still there was no way of getting him out of Kabir's arms without waking him...Ananya wanted to wait until Aryan was sound asleep before taking him back into the room...she gazed at both of them sleeping peacefully which indeed made an adorable sight...she waited for a bit and felt herself yawn several times...Eventually she leaned back a bit and felt her eyes closing, resting her head on Kabir's shoulder...

Ananya (realising)"Sorry... I just couldn't wake you up...Aryan was so sound asleep that...

Kabir (quieted her down pressing his finger against her soft lips)"its OK!!

He had the sudden urge to kiss her... but he stopped himself...Was it just the attraction that made him want to kiss her? Was it just the attraction that made him keep his arm around her?...
Aryan's excited "Sheee" brought him out of his daze...he turned to look at Aryan standing there holding an empty blue folder...

Staring at the object in his hand, it dawned upon Kabir that it looked strikingly familiar to him...

Kabir (curious)"where did u get this...yeh

He paused mid way when it struck him, that it's the file he was working last night...but how folder is empty ?? it had papers... he got up instantly...

Ananya wasn't too sure what was going on...but as Kabir stood up she realized that it was probably some important documents...

Kabir (surprised) -OMG!! dats my file??

Walking over to where Aryan was, he was surprised to see pile of papers scattered all over along with a few other coloured folders...shocking him to the core...mumbling to himself what the mess it has been...

Aryan looked at him scared, standing all still with one of the folders remaining in his hand...Kabir scrambled to put the papers together...Aryan blinked slowly, pouting and starting to whimper knowing that he had done something bad...Kabir turned to look at him & saw him heading towards Ananya to be picked up...

Ananya (picking him up)"Awww!!! Kiddo, did u do that mess...

Aryan followed where Ananya was pointing & Kabir was trying to organise papers again...turning back Aryan threw his arms around Ananya's neck as if realising that he had done something bad...& bursted into tears...

Kabir stood up, feeling bad about tone he had used...walking upto both of them...Kabir tickled Aryan...making him smile...& Aryan once again rushed to his arms...
What surprised Kabir was...how easily Aryan had walked upto Ananya...usually Aryan just ended up crying & pouting at him only & kept clinging to him refusing to go to anyone, until he pacified him...

Its been so easy for the kid to be accept Ananya part of his life...will it so easy for him too...& will it be so easy for her too... to continue this love & care to someone else's child... he didn't wanted Ananya to feel like she had to take care of two of them or that he was forcing Aryan upon her.

Passing on the coffee mug to Maya, Kabir dropped the question he had been dying to ask ...since Maya has told him, that she gonna permanently shift back to India.

Kabir"so, doc sahiba, bataengi...achanak hum jaise nacheez patients par itna karam kaise?? That u decided to shift base here...

Maya (smiled)"U are forgetting Kabir, u were never my patient, hum dost the humesha...

Kabir"Right!! whom u didn't think twice before abandoning him...when he needed you the most... & didn't stopped when I had asked (pissed off) kyunki apne dost se zyada...tumhe Neha ke taunts ki fikr thi...who kya keh rahi thi...tumhe usse fark pad raha tha...& now, suddenly you want to be back...

Maya (rolled her eyes)" its four years Kabir, you are still stuck with it...farq mujhe nahi, tumhe pad raha tha...u were not stop blaming urself...Neha humari dosti nahi samajh paayi who uski problem thi...but you, you were blaming urself...(sighed) aur waise bhi, mujhe toh jaana hi tha...afterall itni achi job opportunity thi, added with scholarship & ...

Kabir (interrupted)--& a good enough excuse, to hide your break up with Ranveer...that too, because of me...

Maya (sighed)"there u go again, Kabir when u'll realize...it was not because of u...Ranveer & me parted ways mutually...& we were not meant to be...whatever happened, it happened for good, I cudn't imagine a life with a person who cudn't trust his fianc, dat too just because someone said something to him...& by the way ,for your information, Ranveer is happily married & settled...Can we please close the topic...he has moved on...

Kabir -aur tum..?

Maya (laughed)"what abt me?? I am still young, b'ful, smart ...eligible, single-ready to mingle...& ready to fall in love in again & accept it wholeheartedly, whenever it walks my way...(teased) main tumhari tarah nahi hoon...

Kabir (amused)"excuse me!!!

Maya"yup!! I am not like you...jo pyaar karne se, pyaar accept karne se darta hai...that too after knowing ...the person loves you back...what I don't get is, tumhe kis baat ka, ya kiska darr hai...ya jisse kehna hai, usse darr lagta hai

Kabir"mujhe Ananya se darr nahi lagta...

Maya (teased)"Par maine toh Ananya ka naam bhi nahi liya 😈... I was talking about Di, since its her bday next week, toh I love u Di, zaroor bolna chaiye tumhe😛😆...(Kabir glared at her) par kya kare, yeh pyaar ki bimaari... ek hi naam sunai deta hai...ek hi naam yaad rehta hai, 😆😆😆 (teased) like it happened in recent meeting ... (giggled)

Kabir rolled his eyes as he recalled the incident, he doesn't remember when was the last time he was so embarrassed, he had been sitting in the presentation for more than an hour & all he could do is watch Ananya sitting across the cabin...as she moved about the room...despite being his wife, the employees learned to respect her & realized that she still worked hard... He was hardly paying attention to the girl giving the presentation...All he could see was Ananya, who sat there tucking a strand of hair behind her ear...& passing on that silly smile to that "poor boy "Niks" ...but it was her innocent laughter that, faded everything & everyone else...
Maya looked at him and followed his gaze... feeling slightly bad for the girl who worked so hard on this presentation...for the hospital inauguration event...Normally she would have chuckled seeing Kabir day dreaming, but Kabir looked deep in thought...she even noticed Ananya & Niks discussing something & smiling away...& inspite of Kabir looking at their way, he doesn't seem if he was angry or upset...It was as if he was in a struggle...
Maya glanced back at Kabir, waiting for him to say something as girl has ended the presentation...she nudged him,

Maya (whispered)"Kabir, say something??

Kabir (blurted)--"Huh? ... (Realising ppl around waiting for him to say something) Oh, good job Ananya ...

Maya cudn't control her laugh anymore...which striked Kabir, he called the girl presenting Ananya... Kabir couldn't help but feel extremely embarrassed...

Kabir (stammered)--Im sorry.. .uh... Miss...

Girl"Verma

Kabir"yeaah, Miss Verma...presentation was good... (composed himself) inauguration programme mein aur kuch change hoga toh Maya will inform you...

Recollecting the incident, Kabir was still embarrassed

Kabir (embarrassed)"I still cant believe, I did that ...

Maya (teased)"Kabir Sharma, its OK,...Dats quite usual in Love..

Kabir (interrupted)" In Love??

Maya (gave a strange look)"Yes, in love...

Kabir--you really must be mistaken...There's just no way...

Maya (confused)--No way what? That you are in love?....(teased) We've all seen the way you are around her...You are so protective and caring- like a perfect husband...

Kabir (sighed)"fine, I care about her...I don't deny that...par,

Maya (interrupted)--What about the way you look at her...As if she is the only one around!...(added seriously) I'm serious Kabir... what's stopping you...& you can't deny, you feel something for Ananya...I have seen u happy around her... can see that twinkle in your eyes when she is around...& most importantly , You are married to her Kabir...that is a lifelong commitment, you were the only one who said it all these years ...that you always yearned for a happily ever after...& where does it say you cant love her? Does it say 'Thou shalt not love thy wife'?" specially after she herself said, she loves you...(paused) or are u scared that Ananya will hurt you like Neha...

Kabir (confident)"Never ever Maya, I know Ananya better...she will never hurt me... she cares too much for me...(sighed) Fine, I don't deny, but you think everything is easy...you have known everything...I have failed in every relation...& its not just about me saying to her that I love her, or its not that I don't trust her...but her trust on me is what scares me...what if, I am not able to fulfill what she wants...I wud hate to see disappointment in Ananya's eyes...because of me...

Maya (Facing him)--& who said, u failed...!!! Kabir, whatever happened in Neha's case...it was not something you have to blame urself...& waise bhi, how long you are planning to wait...or how much you think Ananya will wait...zindagi bhar wait karwaoge use... I wud suggest just, (crossed her fingers before lying) don't take too long to realize it, because she won't wait forever...

Though she knew it herself, Ananya will never leave Kabir, as in these few days, she realised Ananya is in too much love with Kabir & will never leave, come what may...& she will always be there for him ...irrespective Kabir confesses his love or not.

At that very mention... Kabir looked up at her surprised...He had never thought about that possibility --what if Ananya left him... What if she gives up on the relation...What would he do? He had become so accustomed to having her around - in fact he liked just the feeling & knowing she was there...the mere thought scared him...He would never want to push her away...

Maya (turned to leave)"Kabir, we all know how much you love her...its evident in your eyes & behavior...& Maybe its about time that you realized it yourself...infact, its high time u confess it... Sometimes its better to hold the hand you are being given, rather that refusing it...& its same way about feelings too, its better to say what you feel rather than denying ...😊😊

Maya gave a smile to herself, that Kabir is not denying anything, seeing a dilemma on Kabir's face...she walked out of his cabin...leaving him lost in thoughts.

During their ride home...Ananya noticed Kabir was unusually quiet, which was a rarity, ...as usually either they chatted about anything & everything under the sun...if he had some work he used to make few calls, but today he has seems lost😕 ...as soon as they exited the building, Kabir just sat back with his eyes closed...He had wracked his brain so much at Maya's words- every single one of them coming back to haunt him...although he had been immersed in his thoughts...he couldn't help but find himself watching Ananya across the cabin for later part of day...as if it was natural.

Kabir sat back with his eyes still shut, but remained perfectly awake. He couldn't possibly fall asleep in this state. He just wanted some peace and quiet, not to mention time for his own thoughts.

Ananya glanced back at Kabir, wondering what was wrong😕😕, earlier when they had lunch together he was perfectly fine...but now she cud make out he seems tensed... She just hoped he wasn't falling ill...She slowly raised her hand and touched his forehead with the back of her hand...No fever at least. Maybe he was tired...

Kabir stilled as he felt someone touching him...He had hardly spoken a word to her, yet she still cared enough to see if he was ok?...He knew that he seemed tense...It was obvious and he knew it...Why did he want to be taken care of by her?...before he cud ponder more...they reached home & without a single word, Kabir stepped out of the car and walked upto the house in his study...

Ananya couldn't help but watch him, feeling worried why exactly he was tense...hope nothing wrong at work...not that she can make out, as long as she knows, everything is going on smooth at office, in every project...then what??
