The episode belonged to Khalid from start to end.. He was at his sarcastic best yesterday, I couldn't actually take my eyes off him, even to have a glimpse of manipulative EIC ;).
Yes, my title too refers to him, this is the foxy Khalid of olden days, what a delight it was to watch him in action!!
After a long wait, we got to see an episode where every character behaved as per their original character traits, with the exception of Shreya ofcourse, she was the casualty ;)
I am still disappointed with the way Shreya's mental illness has been exploited by Kabir & co, if they had this plan of ousting Shreya using the majority of shares, what was the need of publicising her sickness? They could have avoided that angle, but again our shows thrive on dramatics, and even if these makers claim to be different, they do fall into the trap now and then. With this move they have not just introduced drama, but also butchered the reporting standard of KKN (and Kabir).
Coming back to Khalid, he had some classy dialogues in the episode. He mocking at Shreya, mimicking a little kid was just awesome, and then his comment about KKN being his offspring. If there is one character which is consistent, that is Khalid, he always had KKN as his priority and that's where Shreya played her card wrong, she could read Kabir and Ananya, but she grossly underestimated Khalid. Her descend started on the day when she openly challenged Khalid about destroying KKN, I would say that finally led to her demise. The credit for throwing Shreya out of KKN, goes solely to Khalid. Secondly, Shreya herself digged her own grave by not paying importance to Manav's Khabar about Kabir & co collecting evidences of her bipolarity, instead of taking some defensive action against any such move by Team Kabir, she went on the offensive mode to target Ananaya, which didn't help her in anyway. Perhaps she too (like me) felt Kabir won't degrade himself by exploiting her bipolarity, if so, I can only say, ' we had high hopes on Kabir's sense of ethics, buddy' ;),
A saner Ananya was a much better watch and more relatable, liked the fact that she didn't use her usual big dialogues. Finally a show of possessiveness from her about Kabir, what a relief!! ;). And she claiming to be not sure about her future with Kabir goes with the gradual progression of their relationship. I found it funny when she offered to suggest another psychiatrist for Shreya, I expected Shreya to question her whether she has been using a psychiatrist too ;). I had this doubt after watching Tuesday episode, forgot to mention it in my post, how did Team Kabir convince Dr. Dasgupta to issue a statement about Shreya's mental condition, I thought every doctor is bound by patient confidentiality clause. Did they by any chance blackmailed her using the info they have on the trial drugs she is issuing? If so, that is another ethically questionable move by Kabir. :(
Perhaps Ananya warning Shreya about taking panga with the Delhi journalist community is supposed to indicate her concern for Kabir, but for a person who could plan a murder for her selfish reasons, firing Kabir or facing the wrath of journalist community should be a cake walk ;)
The last scene between Ananya and Shreya, portrayed Ananya's mindset as a daughter. Her angst and feeling of failure is relatable, but unfortunately the character is not shown to be using those feelings to strengthen her resolve and fight for the cause, that's where the makers had done injustice to the character. Kabir's expressions while Shreya threatening Ananya and Ananya's comment about justice for her father had been a good touch, and it was nice to see him letting Ananya fight her own battles without coming to her support.
In the absence of Ronnie, Sunny is given much needed voice, the voice of KKN I believe, every other employee seem to be echoing his sentiments.
Manav bhai's expressions were noteworthy in his scene with Shreya. He was smirking when Shreya announced him as the new EIC, but didn't look upset or worried when Team KK hit a six on that bouncer bowled by Shreya. Wonder what is going on in his mind.
I have nothing new to say about Kabir, always liked his encounters with Shreya, and this one was no different, his silent communication with Ananya was good, and he cautioning his celebrating team about the volume of impending tasks, shown him as a true leader.
