I feel, Kabir is jumping to and fro from his older and present self. Older self has accepted his feelings for Ananya and jealousy is felt, whereas his present The Kabir Sharma personality stops him from acknowledging everything around him. He is seeing everything around him, but still he is deliberately ignoring, pushing Ananya away rather than face confrontations.
This KS is one hell of a complex guy!!
Ananya, on the other hand, still believes in fairytales and fantasies. She is yet to be introduced to the immensely bitter taste of reality.
Hope, this MUs wil teach her to learn few lessons, to avoid being dependent and prejudiced.

Yes, she is not introduced to this bitter world of harsh reality till Kabir told the truth abt her father's death. Its first one in list of many tht wud come her way in form of Kabir's past! Bt its jst a learning curve for her and she will learn to be not dependent on anyone or b prejudiced abt Kabir! Bt somehow I feel she has eyes of a child. She cannot see any malice in anyone. However bad Malvika or Manaav might b with her. She wud react in the heat of moment but wud never held a grudge against anyone. Even the slap tht she gave to tht Badshah was out of pure and sheer anger and disgust and not out of malice, evil or anything remotely close to it. Its really endearing quality of hers which also refrains her to see any vices in her hero Kabir! She can ignore his flirtings, his rude behaviour, his shady past and worship him blindly! I think Kabir likes tht quality abt her.
And I also feel he did hear her first proclamation of her Barbie doll crush on him! He surely mst've noticed her and also after her disastrous introduction, followed by skipping the first meet with editor-in-chief mstve surely brought her in his eyes! And thn her blunt accusation of him being "Bik gaye"! 😆 tht mstve surely amused him for her stupidity! Its hard to get such namoona out of one's mind!😆
You may b right with this version 2 pushing everyone away and version 1 accepting the responsbilit of his love! Now he wud b in dilemma to listen to his heart or brain. But the sensitive nature of Kabir clouds his judgement regarding Ananya!😆
His Ms. Kashyap I m sure he wud b secretly cursing himself for tht.😆
But I see him inflicting severe pain on Ananya (the version 2) and thn feeling equally bad abt it (version 1)
