Sprinkle in Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar , Lipstick , Shagun and Pardey Ke Peeche and her kitty is filled with varied roles, but Prahlad Kakkar's discovery Shweta has an equally varied and interesting perspective on men and relationships. BT finds out what that is.

What's the best thing about being a TV actor?

Being interviewed (giggles). I get to live a fairytale life and play all kinds of people. I'm a different person each time.

Why are negative roles so difficult?

It is not easy to play someone who hurts people. You have to say nasty things and do bad acts. People aren't conditioned to doing such acts, so one has to go deeper into the psyche of the character.

Define men.

Men are inferior to women, but we love to keep them under the impression that they are the smarter ones. We can't do without them and it is difficult to live with them.

What's the one thing that irks you about them?

Insensitivity. Men are insensitive grizzlies; sensitivity is a virtue most of them lack. And yes, of course, body odour – if you smell nice, you probably are nice!

So is there any Indian actor whom you find hot?

Nah! Indian actors need miles to go before they can even be considered on a hotness scale. But yes, Hollywood definitely has some. George Clooney, Jude Law and Richard Gere can make any girl go weak in the knees.

What is love?

Love is companionship and bonding. I'm not like those silly girls who talk of love and sacrifice. It's sharing your lives with each other, and everything is included in that.

Who was your first crush?

I was 15 and he was a little older. He proposed to me and I rejected him. No regrets, though – if I had said yes, I wouldn't be here today.

What's your idea of romance?

A beach somewhere in Goa with miles and miles of golden sand and the waves kissing them. Suddenly, out of the blue, he whispers into my ears, 'Honey, marry me.' Couldn't be more romantic than that!

What's the one thing you would cook for your guy?

I'd like to cook spicy mutton curry. He'll come begging on his knees for more. And then some more.

Habib Mithiborwala has bagged a TV show after a good two years post his near-death experience in 26/7 floods.


Two years ago around this time actor Habib Mithiborwala never imagined he'd ever be able to shoot again. He had a near-death experience during the 26/7 deluge.

It took him more than a year to recover and be in a position to move around comfortably. Now he's back not just on his feet but doing what he loves most — acting.

Habib, who was earlier seen in Remix till the incident occurred, will now be seen in Phir Koi Hai. "I play a nerd in the episodic show and it's an interesting character. I run, dance, jump, even drive," he says excitedly.

Not one to give up Habib has literally fought his way back. A believer in destiny, he says, "Whatever has to happen will. I was destined to return to acting and here I am."

Returning to the sets wasn't tough at all. "I may have had a long break, but no I wasn't nervous at all. One can never forget acting," he smiles.

Habib's in good shape now and can manage rigorous working schedules. "I worked the whole day and I was still feeling energetic at the end of the day. Life is almost normal today and I'm ready for any challenge."

The young man owes his 'return to life and work' to his parents, family and well-wishers. Last few months, when he was invited to colleges to judge events and was also given an award by a social organisation, have boosted his confidence. "It's nice to be recognised for your work. One of the events I attended had some special children (mentally challenged) perform. They performed very well. It was wonderful and so encouraging to watch them," he says.

Habib now wants to concentrate on acting. "My main focus is acting. I am going to work hard and try to get better roles."
