Star presence in today's Andheri peace march
Mumbai Mirror Bureau
Residents of Andheri, Juhu and Lokhandwala will organise a peace march on Monday from Juhu circle towards Tulip star. Many filmstars and TV stars like Yukta Mookhey, Ronit Roy and Pooja Bedi along with the cast of popular TV serial REMIX including Shweta Gulati, Priya Val, Karan Wahi and Raj Singh Arora will join the march to jointly appeal to the government and BMC to improve the situation in North Mumbai, devastated by the July 26 deluge.
The participants will carry placards, appealing to the government and BMC to improve the face of the city.
Anu Ranjan, one of the organisers, said: "We will be starting our march at noon so that students can join us after flag hoisting at schools. We want names and numbers of officials concerned because whenever we call government offices for help, the line is always passed from one person to another and we don't really know whom to talk to."
"It's high time all tax-paying citizens come together and raise their voice against the government. The tax we pay should be utilised to improve the city's infrastructure. This will be our first step toward a cleaner Mumbai," said former beauty queen Yukta Mookhey.
The Times Foundation will forward their agenda to the government and suggest ideas to develop Andheri.
