An excited Priya says, "I play a bold and cheeky character who has grown up in pain of not being raised by her mother." Any comparisons to Anvesha's character are ruled out, as Priya says, "Anvesha and Ayesha bear no resemblance to each other although on the surface they seem similar due to their sassiness. While Anvesha was mad and rebellious, Ayesha is a level-headed girl, who becomes mature after dealing with her mother's absence during her childhood."
She continues, "After 'Remix' I was offered several similar roles. Although I didn't exactly want to do the same kind of roles, I was sure that I didn't want to act in saas-bahu serials. So I chose to take up Ayesha's role. I am not looking at making acting my full time career. So I am saved from forcing myself to play the characters I don't relate to."
So what was Priya doing after 'Remix' went off-air? "I travelled a lot and met my friends," she replies. Incidentally, Priya loves to write and has recently completed writing a script about a young girl's complex life. She intends to develop it into a film in future.
Priya gets sentimental as she talks about the 'Remix' gang saying, "They are such an adorable bunch of friends. Its uncanny how Shweta Gulati (Tia) and I audition for the same roles - we seem to share a karmic bond. Karan Wahi is a sweetheart, though I don't know how many girls he is seeing at the same time!"
So is there a romantic someone in her life? "I've not yet come across anybody in the telly-industry who has swept me off my feet," she smiles.
