Mohit Raina tasted success with his popular TV show, Devon Ke Dev- Mahadev. Guess he thought another mythological show would be the perfect way to boost his career, that has spiraled downwards ever since Mahadev went off air last year.

Buzz is, the actor was eyeing the lead role in Star Plus' new mythological show, Siya Ke Ram. Incidentally, this big-ticket show is being produced by the makers of Mahadev.

However, Mohit wasn't too lucky. We hear, Ashish Sharma (of Love Sex aur Dhoka fame) will play the male lead now.

As far as the Mahadev actor is concerned, reports also suggested that he had bagged a film with a leading production house but that seems to have come to a naught.

Producer of Siya Ke Ram, Nikhil Sinha, denies considering Mohit for the role.

We asked Mohit about his absence from the tube, who said, "It's all deliberate."
