The problem was RR was hyped too much. So much that it had a theatrical trailor in cinema houses. Obviously colors expected great TRPS. A lot of money was in RR.

Which show is not hyped. Every channel want to make its show a success and does all possible things for that. I am a witness of this when I went to see gundey in theatres I saw the promo of BI then RR. At Metro stations there were posters of both serial.
Just one thing RR got extra was a dance performance in BB but there also BI lead pair was present.

And I don't blame ST really. For him RR was also business and he had to pay hundreds of employees. And if it failed to generate revenue, the channel will pressurize.

The channel might not have pressurized him at the beginning it was he who felt the pressure

ST succumbed to the pressure. And in a panic he did lots and lots of stupid mistakes. I just feel sorry for him and nothing else.

I dont feel for him cuz this is not the first and only time he did this Do dil ek jaan also was butchered in similar way

Yes it did cost us our RR. But when we look at things from his point of view, we will not be angry at him but will just pity him.

If I am angry at anybody its COLORS. They should have backed him in this phase. The guy had already given them a superhit show. Agree that they need viewership but butchering a serial so prematurely was not expected of them. They should have given it some time.

All the channels are after numbers colors not the only one. There have been serials in z tv which have gone off air in 4 months etc...sony has done this...

What politics did exactly played out behind the scenes we don't know. In addition to TRP factor, the PH split and maybe some tiff with colors ended our beloved show. We can know how unhappy the things were from ST's father's tweets.

Nobody will blame anybody. This is after all a business for them. Colors is a big channel and ST is also a big producer. SO he is right now singing a different tune. Thats the way the PR work. Maybe in future things will sort out between them.

Agree all this is business and we lost our Parud in this politics

I am grateful to ST for giving us Parud and the best jodi ever Sanish. Parud are still alive in us and will always be remembered as the magical couple.

Even I am thankful he gave me Parud whom I can never forget

The only regret remains is not knowing the original story and the impossibility of watching Sanish ever again together.

Even wanted to know see sanish onscreen for a longer time ... sigh

Hiral, thats how the entertainment business works. However angry and unhappy he must be with colors, he will not vent it out. Being in this business, you wear a mask and read from prepared scripts.

Obviously he cannot take a panga with Colors. So he twisted things to paint a presentable picture. Neither taking the blame nor blaming anyone else.

Some daily soaps are running for 1000 episodes and still going strong. I am waiting for the day, somebody is able to solve the mystery of the viewers mind who watch such shows.

Hey Reshma.. indeed a very sorry and sad state of affairs then... i think we indians like to see others doing all that they cant do. A friend of mine, who is a senior editor with an international news agency, once told me that he loved these women-dominating shows..as these things dont happen in reality and brings a false sense of empowerment amongst the most muted class... he was like chalo reality mein nahin to reel mein hi sahee...

hello Aditi

The thing that made RR different from other serials was

1) It was quite a big budget show

2) It was hyped as ST's dream project.

3) It had the popular jodi of Sanaya and Ashish.

The thing is we know only about RR and not other shows because we don't watch them.
Maybe the fans of the shows which abruptly went off the air, are having the same frustration and anger that we have.

Anyway best of luck for the new show, seems like the female lead has an equal role this time...at least more than what paro had in rr

Before calling RR a flop why don't we see that when RR was on air most of the or I should say all of the serials on colors were doing badly, were getting worse trp...
But now suddenly from this year onwards all their shows have started to have sky scrapping trps...
I might not know the real reason behind this but one thing which I have seen
When RR was on air I had to pay for the channel it was not available free on my TV
I asked my friend to watch RR but she didn't watch it cuz she didn't get the channel on TV she watched it on net...

Now when I am no more interested to watch any of its show I get the channel for free dont need to pay for it anymore...

Simply stating the channel might have seized its distribution rights earlier in 2014 but now after seeing that most shows r going down the drain they have given back the distribution rights(just a guess)

So viewership of the channel automatically increases, as now the trp audience get to see it without paying for it.

TRP audience doesn't watch a serial becuz of big stars or channel or story they simply watch any show which comes in front of their tv screen ,while eating their food or sumtimes if they are really hooked to show they might change their time of eating for it ...
Who would specially go pay for a channel just to watch a show which hav their fav stars
loyal fans who don't contribute much to TRPs

Our bad fate that RR started in that very year when the entire channel didn't garner trps nd will be regarded as a flop inspite of being such a good show

I beg to differ from you.
When RR was launched it had only one popular face and she is none other than Sanaya.

Not taking anything from Ashish, he did a tremendous job in GKD & CM and was popular but not in terms of GC, BS, VD in online popularity or in terms of SS, AR, RR, RK in terms of general popularity.

hey
let me tell you Colors is a pay channel in India..
and it has never got back to being free again after turning a pay channel in 2009.

BARC covers entire India including North East, Goa and J&K which tam did not.
even in tam ratings Colors is dominating with 5 shows in top ten.

Hey Reshma
loved your response to Mano loved the way u had put it
I really don't know whom to blame, what all politics might have been played by the channel or the PH I am not aware of, but one thing which was clearly visible that Mr Tiwari made three shows, very lovable couples but at the end in the greed or may be need(to make his PH working smoothly) he ended up killing his own creations which really puts me off...
specially Parud because in other stories at least the leads lived together loved together nd died together but Parud case was different we all know...
Hope he learns from his mistake and his show does well...
