I read somewhere in this forum, TRP audience is sometimes bribed (by I don't know who).

Is it true? I don't think that's possible

20,000 is not that high and they are planning to include more rural areas? 😳

But still it's a good start 😊

I did some Google research on how ratings are measured in the US of A

It is called Neilsen ratings and only measured in 20,000 households(app.50,000 people)

And it is estimated there are 115.9 million TV watching households in USA.

I am customer of Airtel Digital TV (HD+) n they have no idea abt this meter. 😕 Only,BARC can install this system in our DTH-STB.

I heard that allegation too but, not sure abt this.Its not looking possible because,TAM never disclosed their 'Sample' households identity.

Yaa ! 20,000 households (min.) is not enough but,we take it as a Good start if,It works in positive way. Neilsen ratings is reliable but,I don't think these small households number is enough for a accurate measurement of viewers choice for a Big country like India.We have largest population wid lots of cultural differences. Rural n Metro cities peoples choices are also different.

I know,they can't install Peopleschoice meter in every TV set of India but,If,Its imp for show future n their returns then,they should be choose a fair path to collect viewers real opinion abt their product.

I know! And I thought the previous system had more rural ratings than urban! So , wouldn't this also be way worse with the new system!! I don't think we'll see much difference to tell you the truth!! Cause people's taste is also bad!! It's true that people do watch saas-bahu shows!! No matter if it's in India or abroad!! Only some shows that go unnoticed might come in the limelight but that's all I see happening!! Or maybe I'm being too negative!! 😕😆
