Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat will take the time slot of Bigg Boss 8 and will be premiered on January 5 said almost every reliable source. However, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat is still an upcoming show on Colors TV, and we have a series 2 of Bigg Boss 8 - Bigg Boss Halla Bol on the same time slot.


Now that we all know Bigg Boss Halla Bol will take a month to pack its bag, these questions still remains - "When will Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat start on Colors TV?", "What will be the historical drama's time slot?"

No wonder, we have been waiting since months now, satiating ourselves just with the teasers and of course all the buzz around this upcoming show on Ashoka, the Great.

Although Historical shows run into controversy every time after they go live, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat seems to be an exception. The reason? Well, it is surrounded by controversies before it is going live -

The Buzz is that Ashoka Samrat was supposed to be produced by Swatisk Productions on Star Plus

Yes, Contiloe Entertainment, the current producers of the show was not the first production house roped in for the show. It was Swastik Productions Pvt Ltd, the same poduction house who produced another mythology - Mahabharat (on Star Plus).

Paras Arora was Swastik's original choice for Ashoka, not Siddharth Nigam!

Paras Arora who was seen playing the role of Abhimanyu in Star Plus Mahabharat was Swatik Production's original choice for Ashoka. However, when the producers switched from Swastik to Contiloe, Paras was immediately replaced by Siddharth Nigam, the young Aamir Khan of Dhoom 3.


So, the teasers which we have been waching from months has Siddharth Nigam in it along with Pallavi Subhash, who played Rukmini in Mahabharat. Now that Siddharth's charm allures us in these trailers, we really do not mind the replacement, do we?

Shaheer Shaikh was initially Zeroed in to play the Elder Ashoka

Last seen as Arjun in Mahabharat, Shaheer was roped in to play as the elder Ashoka. However, after the entire switch from Swastik to Contiloe, buzz is that Shaheer won't be the lead anymore.


As per the facebook page of Chakravartin Ashok Samrat, it seems that Ashish Sharma of Rangrasiya fame is the final choice to play the role of the grown up Ashoka.

Shaheer or Ashish? The secrecry has already killed us, isn't it?


Hope the show settles everything, and is on air' soon.According to the latest news, now it seems that Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat will start from February after Bigg Boss Halla Bol ends. Hope this time they stick to their words.

It is well known that Ashish nailed it playing Chandragupta Mourya(he was Ashok's grandfather) and no doubt Ashish will play Ashok with same intensity, fans too have been anticipating it, the media is playing with fan's emotion, I forbid to believe this article.

There is a draught of news - I think it accidentally came out about his new show in April when he bumped into a fan - otherwise itni pehle no one leaks out news of their show - its always best to keep things under wrap till things are about ready to hit the TV screens
